as far as lawyers here go, it depends. they do charge by the hour, in addition to 5% of the purchase price. knowing i was broke, mine was very nice and only did it for 5%. the check i will write to him will cover one (1) car wash and maybe six (6) bean and cheese burritos at taco bell. it's like, embarrassingly low. yay my lawyer! he does this in hopes that when (if?) the script later gets bought, his new 5% of THAT purchase price will be considerably higher. considerably meaning lots. guild minimums here are, like, holy shit. big. at least for me, anyway. cause i'm still poor.
Hot damn! That's so awesome. I mean, mostly getting paid for the same thing (potentially! probably!) twice. I've been paid for writing tons, but never twice for the same thing! Unless there was some billing error, but VOILA: I jedi-wipe that from your mind and the mind of my accountant.
Congratulations. Everything's coming up rosy!
Not to say this somewhere that it will look exploity of your good mood and gainful employment, but, we still have to hang out.

how much do lawyers out there get paid for reviewing entertainment contracts, if you don't mind my asking?
