Title: Of nurses and creeps
Author: bunny_d_kate
Fandom: V6
Pairing: Okada x Ken
Summary: Okada seems to have a thing for nurses.

„I’ve never understood what people find so appealing about girls dressed up as nurses anyway.“

A hurt pout appeared almost simultaneously on the two girls’ faces. They were twins after all. Of course they’d heard him. Then again he hadn’t really tried to be discrete about it in the first place. Sakamoto gave him a stern look. As much as age had mellowed him out over the years, his leader mode still perked up once in a while, especially when it came to Ken’s occasional bluntness. Even more so, when it was directed at cute girls. Maybe it was his protective instinct. Though right now, Ken didn’t care much about any kind of sermon that he might have gotten himself into. He didn’t feel like apologizing. It hadn’t been that bad anyway.

Go caught up to him on their way back to the dressing room and gave him a slap on the back, accompanied by one of those fanged grins that made him look a tiny bit like a werewolf.

“Are we in a bit of a foul mood today?”

Of course he knew. He always did. They’d been friends for way too long and so he didn’t even try to hide his scowl.

There was a fine line between Ken’s usual good-humored snark and the times when he said things to actually hurt people’s feelings. Unfortunately, a lot of people didn’t know how to distinguish between the two which resulted in a lot more hurt feelings than actually intended.

“They could have invited any of those girls. Why did they have to choose the nurse-twins? That’s so clichéd. - …And what are you grinning about?!”

Ken’s grumbling turned into an irritated hiss when he noticed Okada sitting on one of the couches in their dressing room, immersed in a book and with a small grin playing about his lips. It was exactly that knowing grin that made him completely livid sometimes. Mostly because more often than not it was the only response he’d get from him. No matter how hard he tried - and sometimes he really did try just for the fun of it - it was almost impossible to make Okada lose his cool. He hardly got angry at all. At least not the kind of angry that’d lead to heated discussions or shouting of insults like the fights he had with Go sometimes. As much as they laughed and goofed around together, they had always been fighting, too. But after screaming at each other for a while and the occasional slap on the head, they were fine again. Ken liked to compare these kind of fights to thunderstorms where all emotions erupted at once like lightning but afterwards all bad feelings were swept away by the rain and the world would look that much brighter again. When Okada got angry it was a kind of broody, silent anger that Ken didn’t know how to react to. Teasing him more usually only ended in a sullen frown or him leaving the room altogether. To be fair, Okada had always been a bit of a weird one. When they had gotten to know each other, he had been that quirky boy with the chubby cheeks whose skin was usually covered in red blots due to his extreme nervousness and his fear of being in front of people no matter if it were 50 or just three. It still seemed like a miracle sometimes that a guy like that was now one of Japan’s most popular actors and pretty much the driving force that was pulling them along. Even more so, because even now he still got embarrassed and flustered about the smallest things. Which was probably why they made him do things like playing with nurses and maids on national television. The fans loved to see him cringe and squirm and hide his blushing face and of course they weren’t the only ones. Though for some reason it hadn’t been that funny today…

“Gimme that! It’s not like you’re really reading anyway. Still dreaming of a bunch of hot nurses feeling you up, right? Don’t lie!”

Snatching the book from his hands, he flopped down in the armchair opposite him.

“Jealous?”

A snort escaped Ken’s nose.

“Yeah right… It’s not like I’d want to dress up like that to see if it turns you on.”

For a moment there was silence.

“What?”

Go’s face had turned into one big frown.

“I think he meant that the other way round…”

“The other-…?”

Shit.

He could feel the blush creeping up his face and it was not.cool. He hardly blushed at all so why now of all times??

The werewolf guy erupted in a huge roar of laughter that almost knocked him off his chair while the one with the shiny forehead just smiled. Oh, how he wanted to rip that stupid smile off his lips, throw it on the floor and jump around on it until it shattered into a million tiny pieces.

“Shut up! I knew that! I was just kidding. You don’t get a joke even if it jumps you right in the face, Go-tsun!”

Damn his voice for making him sound like a kindergartner throwing a tantrum in the supermarket!

At this point there was no use going against them anymore because it would only make things worse so Ken tried reverse psychology. It usually worked well when he couldn’t help but show his true feelings. Instead of denying them, he acted them out, exaggerated them until they became a mere farce of the actual thing and people would just laugh it off and move on.

“Though thinking about it… I bet I’d look hot in that outfit. I definitely have the legs for it. I’m sure our Okatchi would be smitten in an instant. Crawling on the floor in front of my feet in his own drool. I could do unmentionable things to him and he wouldn’t protest. Ain’t that right, Kunkun?”, he purred, crossing his legs almost in slow motion.

“Ahahahaha..eww~”

Go’s disgusted amusement proved that he was indeed an easy target and soon enough he got up to get himself stuffed with one of the bentos provided for them. One down, one to go.

There wasn’t much of a reaction yet. Maybe he was still thinking it over. A little fluttering of eyelashes might help.

“You know you’d like it. Admit it.”

Okada looked at him in thought.

…was he really considering this?? Sometimes it still surprised him that even well-mannered, serious Okada was a bit of a creepy perv.

His eyes focused on him once again as if his line of thought had been finished and he was ready to present his results.

“No.”

For a moment Ken just looked back at him without a word. Then he scrunched up his nose and a disappointed pout tugged at his lips.

“No?”

He shouldn’t feel upset about this, right? He didn’t have ego issues. Hell, he didn’t even really want to dress up like a nurse! It still bugged him though.

“So I’m not good enough for the almighty Okada Junichi? Not sophisticated enough for you? I bet you’d prefer a librarian with glasses and pinned-up hair.”

Okada just frowned, bringing out the distinct features of his face and making him look even more like some wood carving.

“No. I just don’t really fancy nurses. If you wore a yukata though…”

No smirk. No wink. No amused chuckle. That was the problem with this guy. They’d known each other for over 15 years now but still Ken sometimes wasn’t sure how to react when he said things like that. Okada could lie and joke around with a completely straight face. Maybe it came with being an actor or maybe he had just perfected the art of turning his face into an emotionless mask whenever he felt like it.

“…Weirdo…”

Okada nodded with a smile that looked a little too dreamy for his liking.

“Are you imagining me in a yukata right now?”

Another nod.

He shouldn't feel happy about this, right? He still didn’t have ego issues so he didn’t need random comments from some weirdo to boost his self-esteem.

It still felt nice though.
“Maybe for hanabi…”
