My Definition of Love
Some of these topics are hard to write about, huh? Love is...love. Love isn't something that can be defined in simple words. Most people believe love is something that should be expressed in flourishes and fancy words but most of time it is very plain. That is what love is plain, simple, and no extra baggage. The extra baggage comes from other emotions. Love isn't complex and it's given sometimes without thought. But I have to say the greatest form of love is sacrificing your life for somebody else.
There's more I can write about love but it feels like I would be running around in circles, contradicting myself, trying to define it.
Here's one of my favorite love poems. XD
XVII (I do not love you...)
I do not love you as if you were salt-rose, or topaz,
or the arrow of carnations the fire shoots off.
I love you as certain dark things are to be loved,
in secret, between the shadow and the soul.
I love you as the plant that never blooms
but carries in itself the light of hidden flowers;
thanks to your love a certain solid fragrance,
risen from the earth, lives darkly in my body.
I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where.
I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride;
so I love you because I know no other way
than this: where I does not exist, nor you,
so close that your hand on my chest is my hand,
so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.
