Dog advice needed

My 80lb greyhound is afraid of my cats. One cat is interested in being cool and sniffing him and the other is still hissing (his lack of enthusiasum is starting to show). When Phaser sees a cat too close to him, he whines and cries.

What do I do?

Get him to associate the cats with something nice.Feed him a treat while you stroke the cat and use soothing language. It's early days yet.

When I 1st moved in with my new family, the evil kitty would hiss at me & I'd run away. Now I'm 80 pounds & she's only 10, so she hisses at me & then SHE runs away. She doesn't let me play with her like the rest of my toys. But she'll hiss at me & I'll bark & she'll hiss at me & I'll bark & then Dad barks & we gotta stop.

[The dog'll get more curious about the cat & probably get tired of puting up with it. You may have to encourage the dog to "go get" the cat & as soon as the dog gets TOO assertive, THEN tell it "no chasing the cat" etc. You chasing the cat off in favor of the dog may help put the cat in it's place too. Or you could leave things as they are. It's not unheard of for cats to be all "mine mine mine" about the house & everything in it.]
