What's RIGHT with this world?

So I get on Facebook and all I see are links to stories about threats to the funding on government programs, protests against taking away collective bargaining rights, and bills that would place even stricter anti-immigrant measures (to the point of violating human rights). Hope is important. ::laughter:: I often think I have more of it than the average person because I'm so lacking in media. I don't listen to the radio, but cd's. I don't watch television, but dvd's. Most of my news info is gathered online, where I pretty much /pick/ what to pay attention to. The nation, the whole world, if everyone gives in to hopelessness, the ability to move ahead is greatly impaired. Focusing on the positive is the best way find your way out of the dark. ::laughter:: I should know! Anyway, I commend your decision to do your best to remain positive and keep perspective. :)

Yes, I am trying to cut back on getting too much into the news while still being somewhat informed. One thing that helps is that I don't watch TV anymore, which I certainly don't miss! My main problem has been with the Internet. I'm trying to spend less time on news sites and more time on sites where positive interaction can occur...like this one! :-)
