"Better," Rory replies, smiling. "Hey...is it okay that I invited a couple of guests? Logan and, um, my friend Lockheed. Neither of them actually had anywhere to go."
Logan pushed the door to the diner open. His left arm was in a cast, his face was bruised, his nose bandaged and his hands were covered in cuts. His condition contrasted with his clothing - nice shirt, tie and slacks. He lingered in the doorway. "Hey."
Logan eyed the dragon. "Thanksgiving in Fandom," he muttered, to no one in particular. "It's nice to see you again, Professor," he said politely to Lorelai.

Lockheed sat at the table in anticipation. He had no clue what the surprise could possibly be - or even that there was supposed to be a surprise - but that didn't stop him from being curious, even if it most likely didn't involve him.

"Hey, kid!" She hurries over to give her daughter a hug and take a good look at her. "You look pretty good. How are you feeling?"

"Logan, I'm glad you could join us," she says. She may even be sincere.

Once everyone is seated, Lorelai looks expectantly at Luke.
"Well? What's my surprise?" she asks, bouncing slightly.
