This week I get my first paycheck at the new pay rate. After taxes, the mandatory pension contribution, etc, it comes out to about $220 more per pay period than I was getting a month ago ( Read more... )

First, I love all of your dressage, and second, I totally thought, from the title, that this post was going to be about horseback riding.

I love these clothes.

I wish I had time to buy clothes. :(

Maybe you could do something all Lady-Gaga-esque and just wear the kids? Like, you could drape a baby over each breast (which would also be convenient for feeding), and strap one of the older ones to the front, and the other to the back. And then you could wear that to the mall, and get some new clothes. (Although I expect some stress in the dressing room.)

that sounds like a nightmare I'll have one day. Now that you've suggested it.

I would like to say I'm sorry, but I think that would be a lie.

I'm posting give a price much higher than what I actually paid.

Oh, good! I was about to say that you probably could get that Elie Tahari dress a lot cheaper at Macy's.

My favorite dress is the last one, disco coke or not! I have a top in a similar pattern/neckline. And no, I don't wear it often.

Heh. I actually did pay that much for that particular dress. Cursory internet searches do not show it to be readily available anywhere else for cheaper.

We will have to try to organize a halter-dress-friendly event, since the world is not generous in that area.

Wait, no, sorry. I got my Tahari dresses at Nordstrom, not Macy's, so I can actually see paying that price if it wasn't on clearance. I really like the ones I have. It's a good label!

Man, I love that calvin klein dress so much I thought about buying it. And then I remembered that you and I have radically different proportions and it probably would not be kawaii on me. (Also that I have nowhere to wear it. I'm not sure if I could wear that to work. I mean, it would take a blazer, I think...)

Although I imagine you would be fun to shop with, because you have such great taste. (And seem to like shopping. I, umm, don't. Usually an hour is about my max before I have to go do something else.)

It would be fun to go shopping with you! Although it might take a little while to get it right - it took me years to figure out how to properly dress my proportions. For a long time I thought that dress-buying was completely impossible. But it would be a fun process (for me, anyway. Possibly less so for you.)

I have bought many dresses without having someplace to wear them. That just forces me to expand my range of activities. Something usually turns up. I bought a dress years ago that I'd never worn, until a masquerade-themed wedding last weekend. And it was the perfect dress.

I do that too! I have a ball gown that I got cheap that I just thought of another use for. I had the rule of "no sleeveless" in Seattle, but I could perhaps modify that rule here where there is summer....hrmm.

(I envy smart blazers, but rack ones never fit me. Maybe I need to find a tailor or something.)
