We watched "Goodbye Lenin" in my political theory class today. I knew I would love that class. It is possibly one of the best independent films I have ever seen. It was about a family in East Germany in 1990 roughly 8 months before the wall fell. The son, who is an anticommunist, is demonstrating in the streets against the government. I really think you can see someones soul through their eyes. perhaps most of us are afraid to show that to others. That vulnerability is just not something they wish to have. I notice that people look down when others look at them as well. It is sad. I have nothing to hide, therefore i love to stare at people. They can look into my eyes and take what they will.
