So the car I bought 12 days ago is broken for some reason. I came home yesterday parked it for an hour then went back to it to go pick my gf up. Car wouldn't start. Engine wouldn't even try to turn over. Electrical systems seemed to be sluggish or non-responsive so I figured it was the battery even though I don't appear to have left anything electrical on. Had my gf's mother come over so I could jump my car. This worked as expected and I took the car out for around 50 minutes (for those that know the area I drove from west side of LA near culver city to manhatten beach and back). Parked the car turned it off. Tried to turn it back on immediatelly. Nada same thing.
I signed and cursed and called the dealership today. It is within the first 30 days so I have to take it over to a special service center, it's not to far from the dealership (it is in bellflower and only about 5 minutes from cerritos which is where the dealership is, of course cerritos is around 30-1:30 minutes away depending on traffic, usually it's around and hour to get there). So I have my gf's mom come back over to jump my car so I can take it down.
Now the engine won't even turn over. It makes a few noises. After 5-10 minutes worth of trying I give up and soon the jumper cables will be to hot for me to handle. Damnit.
I call the dealership back they ask me if I have AAA. I explained to the man that I purchased the comprehensive warrenty with the car which includes emergency roadside assistance. Then I find out that only covers anything after the first 30 days or 1000 miles. Since I'm within the period my roadside hasn't kicked in yet. Suck. He tries for a while to get ahold of the used car manager so he can have my car towed in since I live far away. He can't get a hold of him so just goes ahead and authorizes it anyway and gives me the number for the tow company.
Currently I'm waiting for the tow truck. Once it gets here I have the joy of trying to figure out how to get my car out of my parking garage (clearance is 70" so doubtful the truck will fit). Since it is underground and has a rather steep incline to get out, pushing it out likely won't be a great option. Especially since the door for my parking garage does not have a sensor and will try to close on whatever is in the way of the gate. My car will not be escaping this unscathed.
Then tomorrow or whenever they fix this crap I will need to get a ride (probably from my gf's mom) out to the service center to pick up my car. Hooray for garbage.
The good news of course is that because my extended warrenty hasn't kicked in they won't be providing me with a rental car (also covered under the extended warrenty).
Oh wait the real good news is that my gf's mom is a fantastic lady willing to give of her time and help a guy out. This is about the only portion of this situation that pleases me, even if I do feel a tad guilty for taking up her time.
