Stupid woman hit my car today.
My car isn't damaged terribly badly, and I am fine, but it pisses me off.
I'm driving down a surface street in the right hand lane (about 50 feet from my turn).
Woman driving in the lane next to me for some reason just swerved out of her lane and into mine. She wasn't trying to come over, in her words "the steering is very loose on the mini-van". Now I've driven a car with loose steering (an early 80s buick lasabre, shaped like a dang torpedo) and I can't recall ever swerving out of my lane uncontrollably despite the fact that it felt like the front of the car was running away from me.
I now officially hate ford windstars.
Icings on the cake:
-It isn't her minivan it's her boyfriends (she was very weathered which made it hard to judge age, but I'd guess late 30s to mid 40s).
-She didn't have her license, it was stolen with her purse a week ago. She did have a copy of the police report so I made do with that.
-I didn't remember what information I was supposed to get or what I was supposed to do since I've never been in an accident before (well with a person, stupid deer). Of course your insurance card tells you what you should do. Sadly I've only had the policy for around 9 days now and don't have my insurance card just a temporary binder verification sheet.
-I've only had this car for one month and 2 days.
-This blows my spotless insurance record, even if it wasn't my fault
Question of the day?
Given the idiodicy of LA drivers, why is my insurance rate 1/4 what it was in Jersey for significantly more coverage? Please someone explain this to me.
PS: All hail the auto-draft saving feature of livejournal. This post was killed by an intermittent power outtage we have been seeing all day, but LJ saved it. Hooray auto-draft saving!!
