I have noticed that newbies care more about things that I dont care at all about and yet I remember caring. It's as though this country has worn away a layer of optimism and hope from me. I'm much more of a realist and see this country for what can be done vs. what I'd like to see done. In a lot of ways I've just accepted some things for how they are and just focus my energies to small things that I can actually work on.
I'm reading a blog of one of our TEFL newbies and slowly but surely her spirit is breaking. All the big ideas she wanted to do in her classes are falling apart and she's realizing the reality of the situation. It's sad to see it, but unavoidable i suppose.
