[Earth!AU!RP for Number_eight]

Nov 20, 2008 09:39

This RP is set in the Earth!AU!verse, and is written with the fabulous number_eight. Kara stood in front of the mirror, looking at herself critically. She was dressed in jeans, a black sweater that was a little too big for her, and she'd left her hair down. She was meeting Sharon at the beachside bar to have a few drinks. It was a few weeks after Sharon had ( Read more... )

Sharon had expected to be first. She usually was, when it came to going out for drinks with Kara, so why should now be any different? Helo had been great as usual, promising that he'd watch Hera and make sure that she got her medication for the nightmares she'd been having.

He really was too good for her.

She'd specifically avoided talking to Lee since the dinner the other night, simply because she didn't want to talk about what they should have been talking about. Kara and Leoben knew now, which meant it was only a matter of time until Sam knew too, she assumed. "Another one, please?" The bartender nodded and slid another cheap drink to her, the only kind she could afford these days, and wished to God it was ambrosia ( ... )

Kara hugged Sharon hard, ignoring the slight stares they were getting as she sat next to her friend. Stares weren't always bad--sometimes random people came up to her and thanked her for finding Earth, which usually made Kara scowl and want to punch something. She hated, hated stuff like that, and this place wasn't all that great, was it? Half the people didn't even have heat. Why the frak should they thank her?

Sometimes they said other things, but Kara had to pretend she didn't hear them. And honestly, the instances were becoming fewer and fewer between as time went on. People had other things on their mind than a Viper pilot shacking up with two Cylons.

"They're fine. They're doing something to figure out how to put in a bathroom, because showering outside is starting to suck." Kara winced. "I know it's stupid to complain since a lot of people don't have walls, but, hey." She finished her drink and gestured for another one--it looked like she might have to catch up with her friend ( ... )

Sharon shrugged. "No, not really. I think this time I'm the one who needs to get drunk, Kara. But, I'm glad you seem to be doing well," she quickly added as she tapped the table and more drinks were brought out again.

"It's just a matter of time before Karl finds out, I know it. And I should talk to Lee, yes, I know that, too." Sharon ran a hand over her eyes, wondering why she was acting like this. It wasn't like her... or maybe it was. She didn't know anymore.

"I saw Leoben, I'm sure he told you. He tried to convince me to talk to everyone, too, and..." Sharon's head lolled back with her eyes shut. "God, Kara, I still don't know how you do it. If Sam's as 'straight as the arrow', as you say he is, how can he put up with all three of you? With Leoben frakking you, too?"

Normally, she wouldn't be so frank in public, but she was sure if she could figure out how Kara managed to make a stable love life for herself, then she'd be able to crack the code, too.

"You go ahead, I can walk you home," Kara said, patting her friend's back, and ordered them another round. She had a few cubits too, from her job and some she'd stolen out of Sam's pants pockets when he'd tried to sneak his laundry in with hers. Fair was fair, after all.

"Leoben said you stopped by, yeah, but when I asked him what you said, well--" Kara rolled her eyes. "He told me to mind my own business or ask you myself. In Leoben-speak." Kara sipped her drink and shook her head. "There was something about waves or a stream, I don't know, I tune him out when he does that a lot."

As for Sharon's question about her love-life, Kara was almost hesitant to answer. She wasn't used to anyone actually wanting to hear about it. "Sam'd kill me for telling you this, but that's not...the sex with three of us was never the problem," she said, her voice low. "That part he actually likes. The thing that he wouldn't like so much is if Leoben suddenly tried to make a move. Sam's very...you stay on your side, I'll stay on mine." Kara grinned at ( ... )
