put in the Windows Disc to whatever windows version you are running. Run the repair console, the command prompt type one. Type in these two commands: fixboot and fixmbr
That fixes your master boot record, since the problem is most likely that your computer no longer recognizes where to boot to, what to boot to first, hence knows windows is on there but has no clue as to where, type of situation. And the good news is, if this doesn't fix it...? There's no permenant damage done, since it isn't potentially harmful to your computer, just helpful.
