It sounds so stupid to say it aloud, but: that's how mysterious, abruptly procured items of ancient origin work. We never find such things by accident, whether they be good or evil. And something about the egg simply bothers me, and I studied it for only a few minutes, in the end. I feel different now. Not quite right in the head, do you know what I mean? If I feel like that after such brief contact (and I would be interested in studying it further), I can only assume that it should have done something peculiar to you. I haven't fainted yet but maybe I will later...

Yeah, I can see how that might. Vanishing without warning is a really annoying--not to mention alarming--trait in a significant other. And the memory thing is a little worrying, although it could just be a defense mechanism.
