1.27.06 - ok go @ lupo's
so here are some pics from the ok go concert last thursday that jenn carolyn allie and i went to. sorry i didn't put them up sooner, i forgot about em.
the show started with apollo sunshine. not really sure how to explain them but they were really good. indie rock, but they sounded like phish too... anyway, they covered "psycho killer" so i like em.
the keyboardist looked like ryan in 10 years
and the bassist/singer was just, well, hot. he kept stripping during the set and i kept diggin it.
ok so we thought they were the only opening act, but unfortunately we were wrong.
there was this terrible band from toronto, controller controller, i can't believe i even took pics of them they sucked. but the had this girl singer and she was all "hey we're controller controller we're from canadia" and i screamed "i can't hear you!" and everyone was like "omg, maria" and i was like "what, she sucks"...... anyway
and their lighting sucked. obviously.
THEN ok go came on. and they seemed relatively sober.
it got bad though. after a buncha songs the singer made some guy go buy him a drink, and he'd already been pounding them, so by their last couple songs he was pretty much wasted.
dude: they pour a stiff drink here.... remember to tip your bartender... ONLY IF YOU'RE 21!
he jumped into the crowd and rocked out, which was cool.
so then they left after playing all the good songs... "it's a disaster" "get over it" "you're so damn hot"... but something was missing... something that i'd been waiting for all night...

so cool!!! and drunk. anyway, it was an awesome concert. hanging out with them was super fun too. peace kids.
