after 16 years of careful avoidance 
I managed to finally do it 
in the parking lot of Dutton's book store
I slammed the (extremely heavy, I might add) door of the suburban shut (yes all the way shut) 
only to discover that the last inch or so of my thumb had succeeded in getting stuck there.  
I yanked it out without even opening the door.
