Yes, this is a fundraiser for our theme camp. There are only 10 days left on our Indiegogo campaign (linked), which is our current fundraising location.

very interesting, so is the money collected so far donated by random people or is that mostly friends and family?

I'm just curious bc we are also working on a camp budget, but we only get money from camp members. interesting how big are the chances that ransom people would donate

We did the camp members covering all the costs for the past few years I've run a camp, and it gets to be pretty hard on your members after awhile.

Kickstarter/Indiegogo both say that 70% of funding comes from your personal circles - family, friends, etc., and I've found that to be fairly true so far. The biggest part of getting to your goal seems to be a WHOLE lot of networking though. Twitter, fb, reddit, eplaya, LJ, the list goes on and on as to places we've posted this, and it seems to be a really important part of getting donations from people you don't know, as well as good/interesting perks.
