Shady Asylum is returning to the Playa!

For the first time since 2007, Shady Asylum, Black Rock City's "Central Park," will be back on the playa!

We've launched a Kickstarter campaign to help raise funds for this ambitious project, it takes a lot of moolah to make it happen:

• 1,700+ square feet of live sod
• 1,500+ gallons of water to keep the sod alive
• 5,000+ square feet of muslin to help keep

Won't be on the playa this year but wanted to say Shady Asylum was one of my favourite places back in 06 at my first Burn, thankyou for your wonderful contribution, I am glad others will be able to experience the wonder of the Pyramid again as it was a true oasis out there.

I seem to recall a "No live vegetation" rule in the survival guide or somewhere. I don't think the BLM will be very happy with you bringing your Kentucky blue grass to their Nevada alkaline dust.

As noted on the Kickstarter page, Shady Asylum has been out to the playa numerous times and continues to be granted permission to bring out live plants because we clean up after ourselves and leave a moop free site.
