So a long time ago I showed a list of movies I was planning to rent. dmajohnson requested I post my views on the following movies:

Up
Ponyo
The Hurt Locker
The Sky Crawlers

I promptly forgot about that until now so let's go I guess? (I rant a lot about Sky Crawlers so I left it last)

I feel better that my hatred of The Sky Crawlers is not alone.

Oh god, I'm actually citing Star Wars Episode II as an example on how to make a plot more coherent.

I'll be honest. Though easily the worst in the series, Episode II probably isn't as bad as people make it out to be. But when it can be logically and reasonably used as an example of how to make your movie better, then it's probably a clear sign that you're in the wrong business.

And I've even hesitate to call them "dialogue scenes". They're more of "Stare into the distance for 10 seconds between sentences" scenes.

I'd say Episode I is worse. At least Episode II had a huge battle at the end with Yoda fighting Christopher Lee (and Christopher Lee raping Anakin in a duel) to make things somewhat fun.
