when i saw you had a cd on cdbaby i was a bit styrrup-prized because id' bought menomena's albomb off there a few whiles ago so i already knew about them. what i didn't realise is that they're a distribution center of sorts for "very indie" artists. i don't know why i didn't realise that, probably because im so lazy. anyway it seems not a certainty that this wil be the way i distribute because i love their site and their service and their humour especially their humour. i wonder if you could tell me about your experiences with them - i'm not sure what specifically, just i dunno whatever you think would be interesting/helpful for someone who might intend to work with them.
i'll talk more about your hippie love fest in a while. ;)
Cd Baby is amazing. Derek, the owner, spent years as a touring musician, and started the site as a way to distribute his CD and CDs from a dozen or so other indeendent artists... he totally knows what it's like to be in the musician's position.
They ship fast (CDs arrive ususally in three days), and take really good care of both musicians and customers- nobody is ignored or treated as "unimportant" because of their lack of sales or lask of purchasing.
If you pay the $35 to be on the site, they take good care of you. really good care of you. Every e-mail i have sent to them has been responded to by a real human in real human words within two days... when you look at the amount of work they do, this is amazing
