I remembered that movie - The Russians are coming. It was really cute.

Great job with all the hints of things that are going on beneath the surface with Merlin. I feel really bad for him.

It's the movie that taught me about the Cold War, I couldn't neglect to allude to it. :D

Thank you!

I cannot get enough of this story! I usually don't read WIPs because I'm impatient and always fear that I'll get sucked in only to have it abandoned (which I understand because fanfiction writers have lives too and I'm guilty of wandering off mid-plot on a couple stories myself). But this is just so...I don't even have the words. The mix of these fantastic characters with that particular time period is just brilliant. I love how the prejudice against sorcery from the TV show is such a good fit for the "Red Scare" and McCarthyism witch hunts. And poor Merlin's got the double whammy of being both a sorcerer and a Soviet agent. But again like in the show he's a double agent, turning against the people he was born like to side with Arthur. He's stuck in the middle, fanatics on both sides trying to destroy each other and he's all alone until Arther, and with Merlin's help Arthur begins to see the common ground in people he was trained to see as less then human. I don't think that the Cold War ever would have occurred to me when watching ( ... )

Exactly couldn't have put it better. She has done a fantastic job of getting that across and is one of the best elements of this story.

Also feel the same way about wip's but was so intrigued and she just totally sucked me in. I find myself thinking about this damn story all the time :)

OMG I NEED TO GO TO BED NOW. THINKING OF THIS. NNNGH.

Poor Merlin! I always suspected Nimueh was evil, specially when she refused to give Merlin protection. I loved that scene in the lavatory, it was really touching to see Merlin breaking down and Arthur comforting him dispite his doubts.
I really hope you get some time to continue this story, this fic is the one I am looking forward the most!

I was afraid I had given everything away just by naming her, so I'm glad that there seems to be even the slightest bit of surprise here, lol.

I WILL continue this story. At some point. There is no way this story is just going to founder in incompleteness, don't worry. I really am going to get the next bit up soonish, I'm just going to be very busy over the next week or so.
