That was really well put. I conquer. I think a great example is the fan outrage at the idea of Christian Bale hitting his mother (I starkly denied it) but we really don't know anything...we just hope and create images...

Thanks. And yeah, that is a great example of this phenomenon, which didn't even cross my mind when I was typing this. When that stuff started coming out, there was a huge flurry of fangirls coming to his defense, but you never know. Although I think in this case, from what I've heard, we were right to do that. But maybe in another not so much.

Bravo! :D Not everyone is a saint 24/7, so some accounts could be that they saw the 'having a bad day' side of the actor. I am curious as to what you read that led to this post.

I totally understand your ignorance is bliss stance. I'm sure most like that idea as well.
However, for me, personally I'd like to know if the actor/actress is worthy of my fangirl-ing. Because if they are a prick I don't want to be wasting my time on them, you know.

Thank you! Nothing that happened recently led me to this, but I remember being shook up a few months ago by people who said Tom was an ass and I finally thought - so what?

Yeah, I mean this all goes up to a point. I'm not saying we should stick behind somebody if they turn out to be a racist or a murderer or something, but for the little stuff I don't think it really matters.
