Yus, yus, It's another one of my updates into the weird and bizarre! (don't worry, I'll run out soon. :P)
This Time around?
Body Shaping- More than just Corsetry.
The shaping of the body is definitely not a new concept, It has it's history set deep in Tribal roots, and dipped in tradition.
What am I talking about, you ask?
Neck Stretching, for a start. :D

Why? An extra-long neck is considered a sign of great beauty and wealth and that it will attract a better husband. These women can start getting rings from as young as 5. In some tribes, If the woman commits adultery, her rings will be cut, and she will choke to death unless she spends the rest of her life lying down..
Ear and lip stretching is also not a new thing.. check this out!

Because I care for you guys, I only put healed ear shapes in, which unfortunately, doesn't leave me much to show you. Oh well. Look it up yourself if you want to see how much they bleed..

Binding.. Not far from Corsetry..
A mark of beauty and Grace Foot binding was popular in it's time. Cruel and inhumane in ours.

Other forms of binding are: head binding, and Facial Corsetry. Same reasoning as all binding.

Over all, body shaping isn't new, and I really don't see why people should think any of these is "freakier" or more "mentally unstable" than any other. Remember kiddies, Corsets fit in this category too, but we know all about them, so i left it out on purpose.

Summary:
Body shaping= As dermal implation, Variable in function, risk and Aesthetic.
Would I do it?: Well, I wear a corset, so i techncally already do, though my corset-wearing factor is hardly anything close to that of most Bod-mod ladies.. I have -elastic- strappings in my corset, which lets me breathe, thank you very much. :P
Infection Risk Factor?: Variable. Bleedy= Low-high infection. No bleeding = low/no infection. :)
