We were able to get out with all of our pets, most of our immediate family and a car-impaired friend. We had to leave our grandmother behind in the hospital but heard she was evacuated and should know in a week where to. I still have a paychecks coming until Sept 15th which should be more than enough time to find a new job, even if it is just ( Read more... )

I love you guys. I'm so happy we got to spend time together, even if the circumstances were really sucky and horrific. At least with friends, all is better.

so are y'all staying in Austin? Seems like a lot of people aren't planning to come back home, and that makes me kinda sad. It looks like I am in Kentucky, just until they say come home again. I think I am going to see if I can get hooked into the subsitute pool here.

Of course we are going back, don't forget that part about having a drink in New Orleans and having red beans and rice night until then.

The city looks to be closed through thanksgiving from everything I am reading. It is too early to tell but we are moving forward with that in mind for the moment. As soon as we can go back we will. I'd love it if lots of people I knew stayed in touch though, a lot can happen in 3-4 months and the better we stay together during that time the better chance we have of getting more people in shape to go back. It won't be easy but with friends beside you it won't be that ba either.

Well tomorrow I am going to go see if the University here has an alt. certification program like the one we were in. Maybe I won't have to lose too much time. Praxis scores are national so hopefully I will be able to teach. Then maybe I can have some experience before coming home.
