It really had not been the best of days for Paige, either. She'd missed her first bus out of Trenton and so had arrived at the Institute right as things were wrapping up for the evening, rather than right as they were beginning. And after many deep breaths and comforting words to herself, she'd gone to the front door only to be ambushed by two children younger she. Once her heart starting beating again, Paige found herself in front of the headmistress of the school, explaining as much about her life and herself as she could force out, and doing her best to make it clear why she'd been invisible if she didn't mean any harm

Aleida, who was not accustomed to having five drawers for her clothing, sat on her heels, shirt in hand, attempting to determined whether pajama pants should be sorted in with the pants and if pajama shirts could be considered enough of a shirt to be in with her other shirts. Her brow was knit and she looked particularly vexed. To someone watching her, she probably would've looked very similar to someone with some sort of mental disorder. After all, she was staring into an open drawer and concentrating on with all the mental strength she possessed. Were pajama shirts shirts or not?!

Aleida was interrupted by two, distinct knocks. Looking up suddenly, she peered at the door, watching it as the knob turned and the door slowly opened. Well, there was a girl there. And she was carrying her things. After a quick evaluation, Aleida determined that this must be the girl who she was to share the room with. She didn't appear all that horrible - in fact, Aleida noticed as she turned her attention away from the girl, she looked rather

Paige relaxed, suddenly aware of just how tense she'd been, when Aleida confirmed that she was, in fact, Aleida. She exhaled a small amount of the air which had been reserved in her lungs (some sort of "just in case" reflex Paige wasn't even really aware she had) and moved closer to the nearest bed. She opened her mouth to see if her roommate had no claim on this space, but Aleida had already returned to her unpacking. Giving a small shrug, Paige gently set her bag down on the soft mattress and, after a pause and a glance which gave one last opportunity for someone (anyone!) to protest, she opened it

Perhaps no one had told her, but Aleida was just as new to the school as Paige was. She did not have any friends from which she could hear the news of Paige's, not that she would've been interested anyway. Though, with the news that this girl was her prospective roommate, she may have been interested
