Reason: Group project - an attempt at building a treehouse
Dressed in a long-sleeved shirt and overalls, Jacob Caldwell looked like a hick. Actually, he really didn't - he sort of looked funny as no one would ever peg him as the type to wear overalls - but he had bought a pair when the boys painted their room last year and it was supposed to be some sort of symbol of construction and labor, wasn't it? And armed with a hammer and a box of nails, he was prepared. Prepared to do what exactly was the question, and though he had a full mindset of getting the tree house built today, he wasn't sure how much they would accomplish but figured they could just try. The "they" in question were his friends, who he invited and who could extend the invitation to whoever they wanted. The Xavier Institute didn't have a tree house, so it was about time they built one, right?
He walked across the grounds, passed the other students on his way to survey a patch of trees growing further away. It would be nice to have some sort of sanctuary away from the noise in the mansion, and though it wouldn't necessarily be private, it would be a change and he figured change was good. Especially after the news broke out about the supposed cure that wasn't really a cure. First, there were rumors about Professor Xavier and now, there were rumors about Magneto resurfacing. Not exactly the news a student would want to hear. He just wanted to be a kid, and not think about all the seriousness happening around them. And for that Sunday, he figured building a tree house would be the solution to all of that. At least for one day.
