early this morning, the police paid a visit* to 36 carolina street. the reason: our front door was apparently wide open.

note to self/roomies/anyone who might ever visit us...
please, for the love of god, remember to lock the front door before going to bed.

*barged into our bedroom, flashlights and everything...just like on cops.

in hindsight, i should have *very* politely asked the cop why he felt the need to insult us as he was walking around our living room telling us how lucky we were and blah blah blah. basically, the reason our door was open (to him) is because we were up all night partying and just left it open, because we're dumbasses - not because the little switch on the lock (that prevents us from locking ourselves out of the house everytime we shut the door) was flipped up, and the wind opened the door. he was pretty much a cockhead, and, had it not been 6:23 in the morning (and if i was not so much of a chicken) i would have found a way to tell him that.
also, if you are a policeman that's barging into someone's bedroom with a flashlight, it's probably best to state that you are in fact a policeman first thing, not after you've been shouting at the person for a little while.
i'm just saying.

oh jesus. that sucks. it reminds me of the time the cops broke down laura and jeff's door thinking there had been a stabbing in their apt. after holding them at gunpoint, freaking them the fuck out, and searching the apt, they realized they had the wrong building.

so, if it was 6:23 in the am, laura was there too? i bet she's over cops barging into her house....

i'm gonna be mom here for a minute. remember to lock the fucking door, guys! i like my friends (and all their stuff) in one piece.
