Last Saturday (4/10/04) Jenn, Latisha, a bunch of drunk people and myself went to the Lostprophets show at The Swamp on Okaloosa Island....aka Ft. Walton Beach. Whatever.

The bands that played with them were Ima Robot and Hoobastank.

Ima Robot was very interesting. Reminded me a lot of Hot Hot Heat. Thier voices were kind of similar and thier music was kind of techno-punk. Whatever the hell you call that. Rock music with an 80's new wave-dancing vibe. Ok, I'm really going to stop trying to describe thier music now. I liked them. Not really my type of music, but very entertaining show. Their singer was mad crazy. He kept acting like he was in a straight jacket, which is kind of concerning to me, but funny and entertaining to watch at the same time. He asked the crowd what thier philosphies about life were and the only ones he got were:

"Shit happens"

and

"Fuck you"

This would be him...

So then came out my Welsh boys. The Lostprophets! *makes cheering noises* I've been waiting to see them since I was at least 16, but all they ever played on this side of the Atlantic was clubs that were 18 and over. FINALLY I'M FUCKING 18! WOO! =)

During either thier first or second song, the WOODEN barricade in front of the stage got busted down. What the hell were they thinking building a wooden barricade? I mean, come on?? So, The LP (that's lostprophets I just don't want to write it out this entire entry) stopped thier show and had the security people take down the barricade and pull all the nails and shit out of it so no one would get hurt. I'm glad they did that cause I was standing on the remains of the bottom of it and if I had gotten a nail through the foot I would have cried...But then maybe the guys would have taken me on thier bus and nursed me back to health...HAHA. I'm kidding ;)

So once the barricade was down, they continued thier show. I was standing on the right (left side if you're standing on the stage) right in front of Jamie and Mike. I was about 2 feet away from Jamie's feet. It was great. Unfortunately his keyboard set kept Ian from ever coming that close to that side. *sigh* haha. I love Mike's plugs though. =)

They started to play "the fake sound of progress", but this crowd surfer came crashing onto the ground and knocked a bunch of people down, so they stopped and pulled a bunch of people out of the crowd. So Ian was like, "If anyone needs help, just let me know and I'll pull you out." So I was jumping up and down going, "ME ME!! OH! OVER HERE! ME ME! PICK ME!" haha. I'm kidding. I didn't want to get sent to the back of that mess and I can live through anything. MIGHTY KEL-KEL! WOO! Anyways, they didn't finish that song. =(

Then somewhere along the show, Jenn's like, "someone's grabbing my ass" and I turned around and there was this big guy just smiling at us and I figured it was him. Whatever. So then all of the sudden, MY ASS is being grabbed WTF?! That's the first time I've ever been sexually harrased on purpose at a show. On purpose, meaning, I was practically groped to death by 13 year old girls at the SoCo/RxB show last year, but they were just being stupid and scared and gay and blah. Anyways, come to find out Jenn, Latisha and I were all victims of this perverts...umm..pervertedness.. But it wasn't the guy I thought it was. It was the asshole behind him. Bastard.

The LP guys also handed out water bottles to the crowd when things were getting rough. Really nice guys. It's not often that bands throw water bottles that still have water in them...haha. They treated thier fans very well. The only other band I've ever seen that stopped to calm the crowd was Yellowcard at the radio show in Clearwater last December.

Right before the last song (shinobi) Ian parted the crowd (As he said "like Moses") down the middle and told everyone to run at each other when the song started. Although I couldn't really see what happened, I assumed that was what happened...Yeah...haha

So all in all, they put on a great show. I don't think a lot of people were really feeling them cause afterwards people were kind of like, "they sucked" blah blah blah. But I don't care. They exceeded my expectations and thats all that matters.

Setlist:

-We Still Kill the Old Way (played first)

Then in no particular order cause I don't remember:

-Last Train Home
-Burn Burn
-To Hell we Ride
-Last Summer
-Start Something
-Make a Move

-Shinobi Vs. Dragon Ninja (Played last)

NOTE: The guy who leaves the message after track 10 ("hey you fucking bitches") yeah that guy. He was the guy that was on the stage with the camera. The one with the hat very similar to one I have. I think his name is Tal or Taj or something...

Ok, I guess that's enough writing. I just try to recall details before I forget.

PICTURE TIME:

After The LP played, We hung around and watched about 10 minutes of Hoobastank, but you wouldn't even see them and it was time to go find the Welsh men. Unfortunately Latisha had to leave, so me and Jenn went out of the club and found thier tour bus. We waited around and got hit on by a bunch of drunk guys...including some guy that wanted to kiss Jenn, but I guess she knew him...haha And some guy that was in a band that was playing there in 2 weeks?? Whatever. We saw Staurt aka "football player" (ask jenn....) walking around talking on his phone, but we didn't want to interrupt, so we just waited. I totally thought his name was Mike and I feel like such a shithead for thinking that, but I corrected myself...haha

The first one out was Jamie. We didn't talk to him much, be we snagged some photos and heard his accent....*sigh* I'm moving to England...

So this is me and Jamie...kind of blurry, but you get the idea:

Stuart got done talking on his phone, so we approached him and asked for some pictures and he said he'd be right back when he could get a jacket cause he was cold...

So Next one out was Lee..Yeah Steph..the blonde one ;) He was really nice. We didn't talk much to him either. He had this whack little phone thing with him...Anyways, this is probably the worst picture of me ever taken. I was still talking when Jenn snapped the photo, so you know..I kind of look like a turkey...*sigh* haha. It's ok though, because I know you guys won't laugh at me, right? Thank you ;)

Lee and the Turkey:

So then Stuart aka "football player" came back out and we talked to him about the whole security thing. He asked us if we saw the security guard grab someone's neck?? I mean, we were in the front so we couldn't see a whole hell of a lot. But he was really nice. And he kept saying "fuckin mad crazy" in that accent and...*sigh* haha. God I'm a sucker for an accent.

Me and Stu:

So then Mike came out and we got pictures. He said he really liked Jenn's Alk3 shirt which was cool. That was him that said that, right Jenn? Or am I already getting confused??

Me and Mike:

Then we saw Ian head towards the beach, but he looked like he was busy on the phone or something, so we didn't bother him. Eventually he came back and we talked to him...again about the shitty barricade and awful security. And he kept saying "mad crazy" in that accent. God it's so hot. haha. He was so sweet. He was talking about how he just wanted us to be safe but still have fun and such. And god it is SO DAMN HARD to talk to a guy that has a body like that boy does while he's not wearing a shirt. I had to look around me and not actually look at him or I probably would have been just staring at his chest and abs....hahaha. God I'm such a retard. Anyways, here's the picture:

Me and Ian:

We never met Mike 2 (thier drummer), but oh well, if they ever come back we will have to surely get to all of them.

So after that we met up with Jenn's friends from Starbucks, Mike and Colt and we all went to Waffle house. I got hashbrowns and a cherry sprite. They were good. Then finally I got home around 2ish and crashed.

Ok, I guess that's it. If I think of anything else I'll be sure to add it. WOO!
