This is the kind of digressions I go into when given a keyboard and 45 minutes of nothing to do because I'm stupid. All grammar and spelling errors stay, 'cos I'm lazy.
Joking aside, I know what you mean, and it all makes me wnat to cry. In my Critical Theory class last semester, we talked about this new fad of books being posted online, and our professor told us someone estimated that if the trend continued the only marketable literature out there would be plot over style. And I like plot, I do, so this made me upset. But the kind of plot he meant was action, where only things happen. Where perhaps we learn something but it's some stupid obvious moral that we already know and we haven't evolved from the experience. This. I mean, this is what disillusioned me so much about the education system to actually make me lose interest in teaching, to an extent even lose interest in reading.
It is ridiculous, which I think I've said before. And the education system is entirely to blame. It's No Child Left Behind and it's standardized testing, and all we're doing is leaving everyone behind. And it's as simple as this
