This has gone too far and then once again for good measure. As if I didn't have a problem with this administration already, this is the last straw.
Rewind to right about now a year ago: Hurricane season 2004. Four hurricanes hit the swing state of Florida. Bush, alongside Jeb, had FEMA ready and in place with supplies and aid BEFORE the hurricanes hit the shore. Read
Here for more information about the hurricanes of 2004. Fast forward now to Katrina in 2005. The Bush administration was inadequately prepared and people have suffered and died because of it. Bush's administration continues to act as though everything has gone as smoothly as possible. It hasn't. Federal relief aid has been dismal. And why is it that whenever I see video of people stranded in New Orleans it is always black people? Why is it that when I see white people they are "looking for food" but when there are black people they're "looting"? The reason is that the "better late than never" mandatory evactuation of New Orleans issued by the Mayor allowed time for only the rich white people, the people with the means to leave the city, to do so. Therefore, the poor people in new Orleans were left stranded as the Levees broke and flooded the cities. Need I remind you that the funding for the repair and improvement of the Levees was cut by Bush and moved to fund our war in Iraq. So the levees have been sinking and the Army Corps of Engineers has been begging for funds to fix them for some time now. Read

So maybe you are saying to yourself, "There's no way that the government can stop a natural disaster from ocurring." True, there isn't. But, could they have been prepared for this? Yes. Did they know that this was an imminent threat? Yes. Stuff like this falls under the category of "homeland security", Bush's main platform, basically the only reason he is still in office. It is pathetic to see them fail like this.
