Well, last night was officially my last scheduled midnight shift (I hope)... It's been a while coming, but I think I will enjoy the break, and finding out what it is like to sleep at night, like a normal person... It does come with some down-sides, such as not having weekends off anymore, but without working the mids, I should be able to make it ( Read more... )

from my experience i think overnight work has to be a finite thing. you can do it for a while and some even thrive on it, but you have to know that if i you do it too long you are giving up some really important things. well, i guess, important to some. some mental things, some mood things, some personal character things. not sure it's always worth it.

I have to agree. You do give a up a lot in the form of mainstream social interaction. It doesn't sound like much, but it sure does make mowing the lawn a lot more work (just mowed my lawn) that it should be. When you have to plan your day so you will be able to do things that involve 9-5ers.

Regardless, I'll keep burning the midnight up for the rest of you.

Yeah, I've been doing mostly midnights of one form or another for well over a year, now... It's definitely time for a break....
