Severe coronary artery disease...

was the cause of death (until it's finalized in June/July, they want a toxicology report)

the coroner said it was the was worst case he has ever seen within his 10-15 years of practice.

My brother was a smoker.

Oh, sweetie... it's nice to know *why*, but no less devastating. Maybe, after you are feeling more up to it, a cardiac workup wouldn't be a bad idea for *you*, too. It's so rare for him to have this, and if you can help yourself in any way, you should.

Wow, I really don't know what to say except I'm very sorry for your loss. People normally have several years to try to quit smoking before they become very ill. This just seems so unfair. I'll be praying for you.

If there are any other smokers in your family, hopefully this will convince them to stop.

My hopes and prayers go out to you and your family. It hurts to find out the cause of death, but hopefully it will provide some closure for you.
