But, my dear, each minute and each second of our time together are dazzling and beautiful. {super junior’s y}

Notes: For Kak Pinat’s birthday! For Nono, because we made a deal, woots!

The slender fingers ran rapidly across the keyboard of the laptop, occasionally hitting the backspace button. The eyes lingered on the screen, looking at the digital words appear on the desktop. The fingers ran again, this time to brush off the bangs covering their owner’s eyes. A few of unsatisfied sighs escaped Donghae’s mouth as he stared at the blinking cursor at the end of the last sentence. He was raking his brain for the next line. What should the boy say and do to his sulking friend?

He almost banged his head on the laptop but a sudden loud slam of the door interrupted the torturous reverie. The newcomer pouted and stomped his way towards the bed and stopped right before it. Donghae threw a glance at the intruder and returned his attention on the screen almost immediately.

“What,” Donghae muttered out, sounding uninterested and nonchalant at his clearly sulking friend as his finger started dancing across the laptop’s keyboard once again.

Hyukjae hissed infuriatingly and let the gravity take over his body as he landed softly on the fluffy bed of his best friend. Another groan echoed, muffled with the soft comforter though. Donghae ignored the black haired boy and continued braining the suitable words for the next line of his characters. C’mon Hyunwon, this boy is crying!

“Donghae,” Hyukjae called, despite his face still being pressed into the spongy fabric. His fingers crawled beside Donghae’s thigh and poked themselves on it. Donghae grunted and Hyukjae groaned at the lack of response. He pulled himself up and made himself comfortable on the bed, sitting up while facing the perturbed teen.

“Donghae!” Hyukjae’s pitch increased an octave higher and this time Hyukjae pulled away the laptop from Donghae’s lap and hid it behind his back. Donghae glared at his friend , frowning and his brows were pulled closer, forehead creasing and Hyukjae scoffed at it, not afraid at all at the sight of a harmless glaring puppy before him.

“Argh!” Donghae squeaked and let his head fall onto Hyukjae’s chest and his head rested nicely against the latter’s chest. Hyukjae chuckled and patted the younger’s head while Donghae kept mumbling incoherent sounds.

“Writer’s block, again? Give it a rest, Hae!” Hyukjae coaxed, running his thin fingers in Donghae’s hair. Hyukjae knew that Donghae loved it the most when someone stroked his hair. Donghae’s breathing evened and he adjusted his position, sitting straight and comfortably on his bed.

“What’s up with you and the earlier stomping? Pouting? Seriously, Hyukjae? You practically ruined the art of pouting,” Hyukjae pouted again, with so much force that his face scrunched up unattractively, just for the sake of ruining Donghae’s so-called art even more. Donghae laughed and slapped the elder’s thigh lightly.

“Stop it, Hyukkie. Pouting is not your thing. It sucks,” Donghae kept his laughter while Hyukjae rolled his eyes in annoyance.

Hyukjae returned the laptop to Donghae and the latter saved his file and shut the gadget before putting it on the small table beside the bed. Hyukjae heaved a sigh when Donghae was finally paying his full attention on him. Hyukjae’s face hold onto a glum scowl as Donghae raised one of his brows at his best friend. Donghae nudged the elder’s thigh.

“Mr. Jung is sending me away to a 3-day 2-night camp!” the black haired boy buried his face in the crook of Donghae’s neck and his legs started kicking the bed sheet. Squirming and protesting like a child as he kept mumbling a trail of complaints against Donghae’s neck, sending the inevitable warmth to the younger’s nape. Donghae sniggered and Hyukjae jabbed his finger into Donghae’s side. Donghae laughed even louder.

Of course Lee Hyukjae hated field trip. Because they did not serve toasters with strawberry jam for breakfast. And because Donghae was not going along, too.

-

“God, Siwoo. Stop crying. Your snot is ruining my shirt!” Hyunwon said with a hint of chuckles in his voice, his fingers were fondly twirling around Siwoo’s locks of hair.

-

Mrs. Lee jogged a little from the kitchen to the main door and opened the big wooden door, greeting the expected guest with her warm smile. The guest beamed happily at the older woman.

“Hello, umma!” Donghae greeted and leaned closer to give Hyukjae’s mom a peck on the cheek. Mrs. Lee chuckled and patted the young lad’s shoulder.

“You know the way already, young man,” Mrs. Lee said and did a small curtsy, her finger pinching the end of her apron.

“Thank you, my lady,” Donghae replied in his gentleman’s voice and did a neck bow. The both of them giggled before Mrs. Lee retreated back into the kitchen and Donghae proceeded upstairs.

Without knocking first -Donghae had long taken the liberty to do so- he barge into Hyukjae’s bedroom and as soon as he was in the room, he jumped excitedly onto the bed. Onto the big human lump on the bed, more precisely.

Donghae’s head collided with sleepy Hyukjae’s jaw and the latter muttered out a loud ‘fuck’ and growled hoarsely. The younger didn’t bother moving from his position; instead he snuggled closer to the human wrapped in the thick cocoon. Donghae stretched out his left arm to caress Hyukjae’s jaw and the older whimpered while wiggling his body in an attempt to unlatch the boy from his body. Donghae merely chuckled into the comfy blanket and lied on Hyukjae for a while before eventually detaching himself from his sleepy best friend.

The brunette stood up from the bed and put his stuffs on the study table near the window, his hands pushing open the curtains that were covering the window, letting the beautiful streaks of sunlight enter the room. He picked up the scattered clothes lying on the floor and tossed them into the basket beside the toilet.

Hyukjae stretched himself and rose up to sit on the bed, rolling his shoulders for a good measure. Ruffling his hair and yawning as he adjusted his eyes to the bright light coming through his window and his bleary eyes were looking for the best of his friend.

“What the fuck with just now, bastard?” Hyukjae asked, darting his eyes at his friend who was arranging and picking up his stuffs which were strewn everywhere in the room.

“Already feisty in the morning, huh? Interesting,” Donghae laughed and Hyukjae snorted in return.

“Donghae,” Hyukjae mumbled in his sleepy voice, patting the space beside him on the bed. “Come here.”

Donghae grinned and he hopped on the bed, shaking the both of them which the latter moaned in annoyance once again. He inched closer and Hyukjae pulled him into a warm hug. The side of his face was pressed against Hyukjae’s chest and the elder’s arms wrapped themselves around his body.  He listened to Hyukjae’s steady heartbeat and enjoyed the worthwhile warmth.

“I missed you,” Hyukjae breathed into Donghae’s hair and hugged the younger tighter. Donghae hummed along as he snaked his arms around Hyukjae’s torso, tickling the other’s side in the process. Hyukjae cheekily pressed him closer when did so.

“How was the camp?”

Hyukjae let out another groan and pushed Donghae away. The brunette laughed and pulled the sleepyhead out of the bed and ushered him into the bathroom.

-

“Hey, we’ll be late.”

“5 minutes.”

They cuddled together on the bed, with Hyunwon burying his nose into Siwoo’s hair and the latter eyeing the round clock on the small table beside the bed.

-

Hyukjae kicked off his shoes and opened the door to Donghae’s house before storming straight to the kitchen of the family.

“Mummy!” Hyukjae whined, standing there with a pulled up lips which formed into a cute petulant pout. Donghae’s mom laughed at the young boy and resumed washing the dishes.

Donghae -sitting at the dinning table with a box of cereal in his hands- let out a snort as loud as he could at his best friend. Hyukjae shoot a glare in Donghae’s direction.

“Umma told me that you are going to bake today and how come this brat-“ Hyukjae pointed his finger at the obnoxiously laughing Donghae “-didn’t tell me about that? I am offended!”

Donghae widened his eyes and pretended to throw the cereal box to Hyukjae. Hyukjae casually stuck out his tongue in response.

Donghae’s mom rinsed her hands and wiped them with the clean dish cloth. She approached Hyukjae and pulled the young boy’s towards the oven. “Look! They are getting ready.”

“Oh my god,” Hyukjae gasped dramatically and turned around to look at his mummy. “Strawberry tarts?” The middle aged lady nodded, followed by a few sounds of choked-on-cereal pig coming from their back. Donghae coughed hard after that and Hyukjae gave his ‘seriously?’ face at Donghae.

Hyukjae swept Donghae’s mother in his arms and showered the lady with endless kisses, ‘thank you’s and ‘I love you’s.

“She is my mom! Stay away!” Donghae joined in the duo and playfully kicked Hyukjae’s thigh and he smacked the older across the head. The stupid struggle lasted for a few minutes before Donghae’s older brother, Donghwa, walked into the kitchen. He shot a glare to each of the boy. Donghae’s mom had already stepped out of the scene.

“Your English sounds like alien. Stop ruining what I studied,” Donghwa said while opening the fridge to fetch his drink. Donghae childishly slapped his older brother’s butt before running out of the kitchen, pulling Hyukjae along.

The both of them burst into the laughing maniacs and they stopped their little escapade as they reached Donghae’s room. They fooled around, played some games on Donghae’s game consoles and exchanged stories of their holidays before Donghae’s mom called them from downstairs.

Donghae looked at Hyukjae with a smirk curled on his lips and Hyukjae squinted back at his friend.

“Whoever reaches downstairs first,” Donghae said, almost whispering as his face was nearing Hyukjae’s. “He gets to have an extra tart from the loser’s plate,” and the younger sped off, leaving the black-haired blinking his eyes obliviously in the room.

“Yah, Lee Donghae!” Hyukjae screamed and he shot towards the door, dragging his feet as fast as he could but the sight that welcomed him was quite amusing.

Donghae was locked in Donghwa’s arm with the older tickling the younger’s side and Donghae squirming profusely to escape from his brother’s strong grip.

Hyukjae took advantage of the situation and transferred an extra tart from the plate beside his (Donghae always sat beside him) into his own plate. Donghae’s mom just sighed and shook her head at her sons and poured the tea into the cups on the table, chuckling to herself
when he saw what Hyukjae was doing.

“Enjoy the tart, honey,” Donghae’s mom smiled at Hyukjae and the boy replied with an overly excited smile (and strawberry jam smashing messily on his upper lips).

-

“Hyunwon-ah. I’m sorry. I bought you the strawberry tart. I put one extra tart from my box into yours, too!”

The door slowly creaked open and Siwoo let out a relief sigh, a happy smile present on his lips.

-

Beep.

Oi, faster! Kyu & Teukie-hyung are here already!

Beep.

OTW OTW OTW!!11!

“He’s on his way,” Donghae pushed his mobile phone into his pants’ pocket and informed his friends while Jungsoo stole another look at his wrist watch.

“On his away, as in, just come out from the shower?” Kyuhyun snorted as he raised his palm to block the merciless beams of sunlight from hitting his sensitive skin. Kyuhyun Cullen, Hyukjae always mocked him.

Approximately 10 minutes later, Hyukjae arrived at the shopping complex while panting, slouching on his knees. Jungsoo stepped closer and brushed the back of Hyukjae’s and Kyuhyun tapped his feet annoyingly on the tiled floor of the shopping complex.

“Sorry, guys! Sora-noona is trimming Choco’s fur today and she looks so terrified that I have to calm her first,” Hyukjae stood up straight and took the offered tissue from Donghae. “Thanks.”

“The movie starts in one hour and a half, so should we grab something to eat first?” Jungsoo looked at the younger boys for confirmation and the others agreed immediately. They settled at a fast food restaurant at which Hyukjae offered to treat Donghae and the younger nodded vigorously to the idea. Kyuhyun once again snorted and complained at Jungsoo who finally gave in (for the sake of making the youngest shut up) and paid for Kyuhyun’s breakfast meal.

They chatted and traded stories with one another, exploding with laughter once in a while with Kyuhyun quipping in between the conversation with his witty remarks.

Jungsoo was the senior of the other three who had already enrolled into university while Hyukjae and Donghae were in their final year of high school and Kyuhyun was the youngest of them. Jungsoo shared about his lecturers, course mates and his extremely diva-like roommate at his university.

They erupted into laughter again when a scowling Kyuhyun was whining again at Donghae for taking his fries and the older paid no heeds to that and kept eating the other’s fries nonchalantly. They spent over an hour at the restaurant before deciding to head to the cinema.

Kyuhyun went to retrieve the online-booked tickets while the others waited in front of the entrance. The group of the teenagers entered the cinema’s hall after Kyuhyun joined them back, along with the tickets. Donghae‘s hand was never leaving Hyukjae’s, as Donghae trotted carefully behind the older.

The movie finished about 2 hours later. Kyuhyun exited the hall while yawning, followed by a red-eyed Jungsoo and a sobbing Donghae who had his face buried in Hyukjae’s sweater-clad arms.

“Come on, Donghae. Stop crying. People are looking at you,” Hyukjae tried to pacify the latter but the sobbing mess beside him was still hitching his breath. Donghae’s hand was gripping Hyukjae’s hand hard.

“B-but why did he have to die?” Donghae removed his face from Hyukjae’s sweater and looked up at Hyukjae. His eyes were red, his nose was runny and his cheeks were smeared with tears. Very ugly.

“It’s a movie, Donghae! Of course someone has to die!” Hyukjae said, almost sreaming and it was not helping at all instead it successfully sent the younger into another round of sobbing-fit.

Hyukjae sighed and turned around at Jungsoo and Kyuhyun’s direction and mouthed something to them before dragging the weeping male into the nearest toilet. He pulled Donghae into one of the cubicles and locked the door behind them.

He let Donghae snuggle into his chest while his hand rubbed the brunette’s back, mumbling some convincing, soothing words in the other’s ears. When he felt the latter’s breath stop hitching, he pulled Donghae away from his chest and took the younger’s face into his hands. Donghae was still sobbing.

Hyukjae looked softly into Donghae’s eyes and smiled while his fingers gently caressed the soft cheeks, wiping off the remnant of tears. He leaned closer and pecked the younger on the forehead, letting his lips graze the smooth skin for a while. Hyukjae pulled away slightly, yet keeping his forehead stuck to Donghae’s.

“Does that remind you to daddy? Daddy is always here, okay. He’s watching us, even! Right, daddy?” Hyukjae elbowed the cubicle’s wall beside him to make some knocking noises.

“Heard that? Thanks, daddy. You rock!”

The corner of Donghae’s lips moved up and soon the boy was smiling brightly with a forceful chuckle, despite of the presence of snot and dried tears on his face. Donghae poked Hyukjae’s stomach and laughed at the older cringing in pain.

“You are stupid, Hyukkie. Very stupid. Agree with me, appa?”

Hyukjae hit his arm against the hard wall again. They both laughed at their own stupidity.

-

“H-hyunwon. Appa. H-he is…” Hyunwon shushed the other male in his embrace. Carefully, he pecked Siwoo’s forehead, hushing the younger still.

“He’s always here. Forever here, okay?” Hyunwon murmured against Siwoo’s skin, pulling the younger closer.

-

Hyukjae slammed the door of his locker harshly, gritting his teeth with anger. Kyuhyun who was leaning against the locker next to Hyukjae’s could only look at Hyukjae with sympathy.

“How did you find out? Did he tell you?” Hyukjae asked, throwing his sling back on his back and Kyuhyun followed him on his right.

Kyuhyun snorted. “He wouldn’t tell anybody, as if we’ve only known him yesterday. I happened to pass by them, and kinda eavesdropped on them.”

“I’ll talk to him later. Thanks for letting me know, Kyu,” Hyukjae tilted his head sideward and gave a small smile to Kyuhyun.

The latter nudged him in the ribs while murmuring Donghae’s name at Hyukjae.  Kyuhyun quickly picked up his phase and bid a goodbye to Hyukjae and he patted Donghae’s shoulder on his way.

“Hae,” Hyukjae called. His voice was stern and the addressed male kept his head low, not daring to face an angry Hyukjae.

“You found out, huh?” Donghae asked weakly, his head still hung low before Hyukjae. Hyukjae reached out his hands and placed them on Donghae’s shoulders, holding them a little harder than he intended to.

“What the fuck, Hae?! You could have talked to me about that!” Hyukjae muttered out between his gritting teeth, his hands shaking Donghae’s shoulders. He wouldn’t want to make a scene and most importantly he did not want scare his best friend but it’s not that he could control his disappointment at this moment.

Donghae’s shoulder bobbed up and in instant his body was pulled towards the other boy. Hyukjae pulled the both of them into the janitor’s room and he made Donghae sit on the small stool in the room. He squatted in front of the crying friend of his and held the younger close.

“God, stop it, Donghae. Stop crying for that stupid human being,” Hyuk stood up, letting Donghae hug his mid-section, burying his face in Hyukjae’s uniform-clad stomach. Hyukjae ran his fingers in Donghae’s crown, caressing them softly and patting the younger’s head.

Donghae undetached his face from Hyukjae’s torso and took a deep breath before wiping the remaining tears on his cheeks with the back of his palms.

“I’m sorry, Hyukkie.”

Hyukjae sighed and he flicked his finger on Donghae’s forehead. The latter winced in pain and grumbled silently. Hyukjae scoffed at that and gently rubbed the spot he hit earlier.

“Stupid Donghae. Donghae is stupid. Very very stupid,” that earned a quite harsh jab in Hyukjae’s stomach. Donghae scowled and tugged at Hyukjae’s sleeve.

“What?” Hyukjae asked although he knew it already. His brows were wriggling suggestively. Donghae tugged harder and Hyukjae laughed.
The brunette pushed the older away and crossed his arms on his chest, pouting. Hyukjae was still laughing.

In the end, Hyukjae stepped closer and bent down to place two small and soft pecks on Donghae’s damped cheeks, which made the latter grin happily.

“No wonder Yunmin broke up with you. She actually had a girlfriend, not a boyfriend.”

Donghae chased Hyukjae until they both reached home.

-

“Can you believe that woman, Siwoo?! Oh my god,” Hyunwon placed his both hands on his hips and paced back and forth in the living room of their shared apartment. “She dared to dump me!”

Siwoo giggled and stood up from the couch, approaching Hyunwon carefully. He gingerly held the taller guy’s face in his hands and pecked Hyunwon’s cheeks.

“Calm down, will you?”

-

“Oh man, this guy pissed me off. How could he?!” Hyukjae screamed, thrashing the small pillow onto the floor, his fore finger pointing at the actor on the TV’s screen. Donghae laughed heartily at his friend.

“Shut up, Donghae,” he picked up the abandoned pillow on the floor and threw it at Donghae instead. The laughter did not even tone down any little bit.

“Cool, buddy. It’s just a freaking movie. Why are you so worked up?” Donghae said casually and grabbed the hem of the back of Hyukjae’s shirt to pull the older boy to sit on sofa, instead of prancing in front of the TV and blocking his view.

“B-but! He slapped the woman and called her names and left just like that. Oh-my-god! That bastard!”

“Who is the bastard?” Donghwa interrupted from the front door. Donghae’s mom followed the back, holding plastic bags in her hands. The warm smile never left her face.

“Oh,” Hyukjae giggled bashfully. “Nobody.”

Hyukjae jumped out of the couch and ran to Donghae’s mom and took the bags the older woman was carrying. Donghae’s mother smiled sweetly at Hyukjae and patted the young guy on the cheek. “Stay for dinner, okay?” Hyukjae nodded happily.

He went straight to the kitchen and put the groceries’ bags on the counter. Donghwa came into the kitchen, opening the fridge before taking out a bottle of his drink.

“Aish Hyukkie, put your shoes inside, can you? I am not your shoes-chauffeur. You don’t want having Yuki’s teeth mark on your shoes, right?” Donghwa looked his brother’s best friend and put back the bottle into the fridge. Hyukjae just nodded and thanked the older guy before joining back his friend on the couch.

“Eh?! How come that guy is back?!” Hyukjae pointed his finger at TV once again.

Donghae just pushed the black-haired onto the sofa and silenced Hyukjae by shoving breads into his mouth. “You are so annoying! Shut up and watch!”

-

It was a stupid fight, Siwoo kept telling that to himself. Everything would be fine, he breathed out. The elevator made a ‘ding’ sound and the automated door opened before him. He stepped out and turned to the left towards his apartment.

He smiled. Hyunwon’s shoes were there, outside of their apartment.

“Talk to him, talk nicely,” Siwoo told himself.

-

Hyukjae sat on the bed, scooting over beside Donghae as the younger slapped his laptop close.

“What do you want?” Donghae looked straight at Hyukjae who snickered in return.

“Forever hiding your so-called novel from me, huh?”

Donghae stuck out his tongue at Hyukjae and the older tickled Donghae’s feet with his fingers.

The both of them rolled on the bed, entangled in the bed sheets, both were running out of breath. They were staring up at the plain ceiling.

“Donghae.”

“Hm.”

“I love you.”

“Hm.”

“Donghae!”

“I love you, too.”

Hyukjae giggled.

“No, you still can’t read my novel!”

“Donghae!”

“Yeah yeah, whatever. I love you.”

“Me too.”

Donghae giggled too.

-

“I’m sorry too, Siwoo.”

-
THE END.
