It really was upsetting, especially because there was nothing I could do at all to help. I even went through everything in the car, and absolutely none of it would have been of any use what so ever. Luckily, I saw a wildlife clinic about a mile or so down the road- it was closed (otherwise I would have gone in and told them about the accident) but I knew that it meant there were wildlife caretakers in the area, and undoubtedly the police officer could contact them at home for such an emergency. I hope it's doing well too.
