I know that is quite rude... but look at it more optimistic? If they had stayed for longer, we would have run out of supplies much faster plus there would be those space problems.

Of course some emotions flow always in, but they should also look at some other points of it.

If I had that mind frame, I wouldn't have any friends. But you're partly right. Supplies would have run out.
On the other hand, shops come and go all the time, and there would have been more hands to help collect supplies that way.

Only that you have to split such things again. It's not like I don't know how it is with limited food supplies.
