This lady that I used to work with just popped up out of the blue one day, well I received a letter from her.  She is 300 miles away.  Anyway, she told me that she had been in the hospital for depression, was divorced and had a restraining order issued on her ex.  Then proceeds to invite me to visit her sometime.  I go that way often with my work

Women are typically differently motivated by men. Don't get me wrong -- at age 30 and up, we're all in our "prime" so sex becomes HYPER important (or moreso than it was in our 20's). Errr...maybe she wants a friendly face? :) If you do feel cynical, go with your gut and don't visit. Just MHO.

If it was *me* I'd want complete honesty from the messenger. As long as your thoughts were...hm, self-serving? Then good. None of us need any more dependents than we already have at this point, do we? I think women (more often than men) reach out for the opposite sex when we're depressed in the wrong way (not me per se, but most...I'm not saying I never *have*, but you know what I mean). Motivation. You need to know her true motivation; and based on what you said, she needs either a really good therapist or maybe a nice hospital visit.

Helllllll, so do *I* for that matter. LOL :)
