Hmmm...a friend encouraged me to join Twitter and I did, but it's not hooked me in yet. I've decided to follow Gordon Brown and Barack Obama, and rather bizarrely they have both decided to follow me. I don't know who first said it but in this case I think "If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything" nails it. Leadership means committing to a course of action and taking people forward with you. When religious leaders, or politicians, start chasing popularity, instead of following their original goals, they get lost and everyone else gets lost with them. Once the respect is gone people lose their faith in the political party, or the religion in question, because even the person representing that party/church, now seems to have given up on the basics.
