[Roused out of her slumber, Mom immediately notices two very important things. First, It would seem that she and Mr. Egbert have once again been displaced to unfamiliar surroundings. At least this time they aren't alone. And two, far more unusual, she's sober. She hasn't been entirely sober in quite some time. It's an odd feeling. She turns to him, a wry smile on her face.]

And here I thought we were finally getting the hang of this strange game.

Looks like our things are gone, too. That's the second hat in a month.

[Dad sighs, scratching his head a little. He really does feel naked without it.]

[She's sliding herself out of bed, examining their surroundings.]

And my scarf too. We just can't seem to keep hold of things, can we?

[She actually is a little disappointed about the scarf, and it shows.]

Still.... this places looks a bit different, doesn't it?

[Certainly not much like that strange land of castles and monsters....]

[Dad looks visibly disappointed about that as well. After all, he hung onto that thing for over ten years before he was finally able to give it back. But there's no sense in dwelling on that now.]

Don't worry, we'll get them back.

[He heads over to the window, opening the shade just a crack to have a peek outside.]

Huh. Reminds me a little of home, actually.

[ Today is Bro's day to dick around within the general vicinity of the tailor shop. Take a marker to nearby posters here and there, think to himself how absolutely unaffected by the giant bad trip of a weekend he was, and... not go into the shop because apparently he's supposed to work there and fuck that.

... huh. Such a fifties looking couple these two are. Must be drones. ]

'sup. Know where the next underground Commie meeting is gonna be or do I have to find that myself?

[Well, ask a stupid question... She smiles and without missing a beat responds.]

Just down the street you'll see a little cafe. Go around the back and up a floor, knock on the door three times and say 'Comrade Joe sent me.' They should let you right in. If you hurry, you can make the discussion of the growing capitalist threat.

[Yeah, she's teasing you.]

[Dad can't help but laugh a little at that one. He smiles, putting his hand on Mom's shoulder.]

Now, dear, you know it's not nice to tease people.

[Grinning and taking his pipe out, he turns to point with it, back down in the direction they just came from.]

The meeting's actually in a back room in the warehouse just across town.

Hey, positively snappy of you. Don't get that outta many folks here in our humble shantytown, it's a damn shame. [ Ah well, so much for a little trolling. ]

*And the young troll walking home - a bag full of freshly-bought clothes hanging from her shoulder - stops for a moment to look at these two humans.

Boy, they look awfully familiar, don't they? Where has she seen them before?*

[Noticing the staring, and raising an eyebrow curiously.]

Is there something we can do for you, young lady?

If you're lost, I'm afraid we won't be much help unless you're trying to get over to Miller Street.

No, I assure you I'm in no need of directions. Rather...

...this may be terribly presumptuous of me to say, but I believe I know you from somewhere, and that's a very odd circumstances as up to this point I have only known four humans before my arrival here.

[[Aaron's jogging and not paying attention.

He'll probably run into one of them, literally.]]

Oh... oops! Sorry, I was on my way to-...!

I mean... I am running late to class, I'm not skipping or anything.

[[Mistaking them for drones.]]

Well, you'd better hurry along, then. If you don't apply yourself in school, you'll pay for it later.

[Dad's probably not doing much here to dispel the perception that he's a drone.]

True enough. A little knowledge can easily give you the advantage.

[She pauses to thoughtfully sip her martini.]

Not to mention that skipping school is surely terribly non-conformist, and we wouldn't want that, would we?

[It would clash with the town's carefully constructed decor.]

Uh... right. Yeah, thanks sir, ma'am.

Isn't it a little early to be drinking... I mean, just wondering.

[[He'll never understand the 50's.]]

[So, Kenpachi's walking around town, trying to learn where everything is, when he comes across a guy who seems to be doing the same thing. Might as well say hi.]
Hey there.

[Crap, this guy sounds like a drone. Still, there was something not drone-like about this guy....So Kenpachi decides to ask one question that would tell him if this guy was a drone or not.]

How long have you been here?

Oh, let's see...

[Dad takes a glance at the watch on his wrist, staring up at the sky for a moment before answering.]

...about three hours.
