Age: 17
Height: on the short side of average
Weight: on the lean side of average
Medical Info: Takes very good care of himself! Is not technically "human", but in practice there's no real relevant difference between humans and Hylians.
Eyes: blue
Hair: sandy blond
Physical Traits: Link's a Hylian, which basically means "human with pointy ears". There's a small earring in each of those pointy ears. His body is lean and muscular, from years spent working on a farm and practicing the sword.
What's Okay To Mention Around Him: I'd like to avoid any spoilers for the game beyond where Link is from -- he's just defeated Zant, but the barrier around Hyrule Castle hasn't yet come down. Anything else is pretty much fine! He'll probably assume you're thinking of the previous Hero if you know Too Much. Oh, and if you knew the OoT/MM Link we once had,
hero_tiems_nao, feel free to confuse him with this Link!
Abilities: There are... going to be other posts for this. lol video game characters. HERE'S THE BASICS, THOUGH! Plenty of links to the Zelda Wiki will be enclosed. (
Here's his character page!)
- He has been chosen by the goddesses of his world, and carries a portion of their power! He bears the Triforce of Courage, although it's never called by that name in this game. What does this actually mean? Not all that much, really. It's thanks to the Triforce that Link becomes a wolf in the Twilight rather than a helpless spirit, but beyond that, it's not explicitly shown to give him any powers or abilities. As far as pings go, it's generally dormant unless another piece of the Triforce is around for it to react to.
- Link is ridiculously dexterous and athletic. He can spend hours running around a dungeon, climbing vines and fighting enemies and pressing switches and etc etc.
- Very talented with a sword! Plus the sword he's using is the Master Sword, an ancient weapon with the power to repel evil. There are very few enemies that can stand up to a few Master Sword stabs in their weak points. More Info: Hidden Skills (upcoming)
- He can turn into a wolf at will. (Well, with Midna's assistance, but we may handwave that here in camp.) As a wolf, his senses are greatly improved, and he can speak to animals. More Info: Link's Wolf Form
- Link has a huge collection of weapons, tools, and special items gathered over the course of his journey. (And somehow he can carry them all without being the least bit encumbered? I'm just going to lol-video-game handwave that.) Also, it takes him almost no time at all to learn new weapons/items. Give him a new tool and he'll be using it like a pro within the day. More Info: The Inventory (upcoming) / The Armory (upcoming)
- Having grown up on a farm, Link knows all about caring for farm animals and plants alike. And animals happen to really like him! In Hyrule Town, stray dogs and cats will wander up to him on the street and demand to be picked up or played with.
Notes for Psychics: He is the stereotypical hero type through and through. Usually thinking about helping people, making friends, completing subquests, his mission back home...
Shapeshifting/Bodyswapping/Spitting at/Stepping on/Etc: As usual, the little stuff is okay! For the big stuff, let's plan together first.
Hugging/Kissing/Other Non-Violent Physical Contact: Go for it! |D Link is a friendly guy, though he's not as physically demonstrative as some.
Maim/Murder/Death: Injuries are fine! I'm not sure whether or not I'm okay with death, though, so if it gets to that point, ping me in IRC and we'll figure it out, OK?
Emo/Angst/Drama: Link is a good person to come to with your problems, I think, and someone who deals well with his own angst when he has it. He's a bit naïve, but he's intelligent, compassionate, and emotionally very resilient. (This is why I have a problem with fanfics that feature Link becoming a wreck after the events of the ending. Personally, I think he's stronger than that.) Also: very good listener.
Cooking: He lives alone, so I assume he's got some cooking skill. (If you look around his house, you'll find a pot hanging over a fireplace with something in it.)
