Dull day... but I completed a poem begun in NY

OK. I admit it. I don't know anything about poetry! (runs from room, weeping). I used to be able to analyse it, but now all I know is what bits I like. I like the first verse best by a long way, and the simplicity of the last line (especially as it follows the very dense second-to-last verse).
