A surfeit of poesy

No idea why: I feel like filling Livejournal with creations, so be it- I read this poem at a Brockley poetry evening last year, in a smoky room full of odd hats and odder haircuts served with houmous, pitta and pickled peppers, amazed at how much easier it was to read poetry when you are not surrounded by a heaving mass of public-school males ( Read more... )

HELLO!!! EXPLANATION OF WHY I/COMPUTERS SUCK winnie_the_pug October 15 2005, 16:31:59 UTC
GEZ!!!

I am so sorry for not contacting you. WOW. I guess you saw my entry in which I mentioned it, but, I'll mention again. Last weekend, my laptop died. Literally. I managed to get the files off of it, but it's acquired this lovely little screen called, "The blue screen of death," which one cannot get past once it appears. I have to call Dell and request a new hard drive soon, I haven't done it because I have been terribly busy. I have had quite a bit of work, and tonight, is my drag show...so I have been rehearsing! Anyway I just wanted to say hi and to hope that you are doing well...please let me know! I'm lame and only now realized that you've a livejournal. Anyway. I will make a vow to myself to email you in a bit, hopefully this weekend, after I have cleared away some of my responsibilities. Do you like Sussex? I hope so!!! Best!!!
Love xXxXxXx

Could you email me your Brighton address? It will be late, yes, but I want to send you a gift for your birthday which I hope was beyond happy!!! I did not forget. Alas, I have just been useless and a disgrace...but will be no more, if I have an address to send something to ^__^

The last two lines are my favourite this time, but I also like the rhythms in the first verses (the second especially) and the way the lines appear to get shorter and shorter.
The dust is floating in shards like a lifetime of broken glass- a really good line, especially with the almost-rhyme in it. I like this line a lot. Oh, I will never be a poetry expert.
