“This is my son, Ryo.” Her mother introduced her 5 year old son to her friend, neighbor and also a business partners.
“And this is my son, Shigeaki.” She introduced her son too. While Shigeaki cleaning his eyeglass and wear it again.
“Hey nerd!” Ryo teased him and give his hand to him. And the kid just stared at him.
“I’m talking to you.” Still like that.
“Hey! Say something nerd!” got pissed. And the kid totally ignored him.
“You really pissed me off!” he punched the kid’s nose. And their mother stopped them.
“Ryo! What have you done to him?”
“That nerdy pissed me off! I’m talking to him and he’s just staring and ignoring me!” he answered.
“Shige. Are you alright?” her mother consults her son. And he just nodded and leaves them.
“Ryo! Go and apologize to him!”
“No. It’s not my fault either. He started it.”
“Since when do you answer your mother like that? Go and apologize.”
“Hai. Gomen mama!” he run and went to look for him. He doesn’t remember his name, its long and it’s hard to remember. Until he saw him to the playground, sitting on a swing, gaze down. He really hates to see him, it annoys him. But deep inside he wanted to become friends with him, and he can use him to academic issues. He can make him do his homework and tutorial when exams. He approached the geeky kid by messing with his hair.
“H-hey! What are you doing?” said the guy.
“I don’t like your hair, you look like a chicken!” said with a teasing tone.
“Mind you own business.” He gets his handkerchief off his pocket and wipes his nose.
“Is it bleeding?” he asked.
“You asked!” he snapped.
“Am I a great boxer?” he asked.
“Yeah. You might kill me.”
“Great!”
“If you come here to apologize, don’t do.”
“Why? I was about to apologize. I’m sorry.” He bowed.
“Okay. I accept your apology.”
“So, we can be friends?” he gives his hand to him.
“Hai!” he took his hand and smiled a bit.
“What was your name again, nerd?”
“Kato Shigeaki desu. Shige in short. And don’t call me nerd.”
“But look likes one. By the way, I’m Ryo.”

3 years later, they became closer to each other and played on the playground with their other 2 playmates, Masuda Takahisa, also known as Massu and Tegoshi Yuya. Ryo’s plan for using Shige for his academic issues, he didn’t do it. Shige was a very studious person, very serious in studies, but, he easily gets fooled.

5 years later, they reached the puberty stage; the Nishikido family invited the Kato family to an onsen. Ryo was already in the hot spring with their father, he was kind of curious of why Shige is taking so long, he was about to stand up and Shige suddenly arrived, half-naked. This is the first time that Ryo saw this body of Shige. He can’t imagine that a nerd like him can be sexy. Sexier than him, he is the self-proclaimed the Sexiest man alive then; someone like him beat him in sexiness. He stared in awe at Shige. And Shige noticed that hot stare.
“Ryo. Why are you staring at me?”
“No. I’m not staring at you.”
“Liar!!!”
“Oei! Shige, why are you talking like that to your friend?” Shige’s father snapped them off.
“Ryo is staring at me… He’s like wanting to eat me up.”
“Are you a monster Ryo?” Ryo’s father asked.
“NO!!! How can you believe with this nerd? It’s just his superstitions!”
“I’m not a nerd and not a weirdo!”
“Did I tell you that you’re a weirdo?” Ryo said in a teasing tone.
“No.”
“Tsk! Youngsters these days.” Their father only could say.
But that night, Ryo realized that he had romantic feelings for Shige.

3 months later, they witnessed their friends’ Tegoshi and Massu avoiding each other, Tegoshi trying his best to avoid Massu, but Massu is nothing to do but to eat, and eat. Shige was worried about them; maybe they’re having a misunderstanding, arguments, anything. One day, Ryo and Shige tried to talk these 2, Tegoshi was silent, and nothing to say and Massu is the same, eating the last piece of gyoza.
“Why are you avoiding me?” Massu breaks their silence. Tegoshi doesn’t respond, thinking of what to say.
“Tesshi.” He tried to hold his hand but suddenly, Tegoshi shove his hand away.
“Are you mad at me?”
“No.” a quick answer from Tegoshi.
“Look at me Tesshi, tell me, what’s the problem, onegai?” he pleaded his friend. While on the other side, Shige and Ryo is trying to listen to their conversation, hiding from the grass.
“What are we doing here?” questioned Ryo, annoyed.
“We’re trying to set them up and I want to know that will happen.” Until they heard that Tegoshi’s talking.
“How can I tell you the problem if it concerns you?” he glared at him.
“What?”
“Massu, we can’t do the things that we did before.”
“Demou, Tesshi…”
“I really want to hold your hand just like before, those embraces that you did to me, it encourages me to face the challenges in my life. I can’t do those things anymore. Do you see the difference? We’re 13! I feel… different from before, my feelings towards my friends, especially to you.”
“What should I do, Tesshi? I want ‘my’ Tesshi back!”
“There’s nothing we can do, Massu. Let’s forget each other, ne?” he said as he entered his ‘self-centered’ personality as he stood up.
“No. I won’t let that happen, Tesshi!” as he run and embraced Tegoshi from behind.
“I wanted to do the same thing like before. And Tesshi is very important for me. And I won’t hesitate to say this for now, even if Tesshi believe me or not.” He breathes deeply.
“I love Tesshi so much, I love seeing you smiling, happy. It makes my day. Tesshi always helped me always when I’m down and you smile very wide. I don’t want to lose you.” As he tightens his hug.
“I know I eat too much, but, I love Tesshi more than food. Tesshi, I love you.”
“Massu.” He whispers.
“Yes?”
“Remember the last time we watched your sister’s foreign cartoon movie?”
“Yeah. What was that? Uhh… is it Cinderella?”
“No! Its Sleeping Beauty! Baka!”
“Oh. I’m not into it, so, what about it?”
“You know, when watching that, I always say to myself ‘I hope Massu is my ‘real’ Prince Charming’.”
“Eh? Tesshi… You-”
“Y-yeah. I love you too Massu.” As he curve his lips upward.
“Tesshi…”
“Hai. That’s why I’m avoiding you. Because I fall for you, I thought you just treat me as a friend. So, I make a distance between us.”
“That doesn’t make sense, Tesshi. You don’t know that I already show you my real feelings nor are you just stupid?”
“I’m innocent!” he denied.
“Okay.” He planted a kiss to Tegoshi’s lips very quick and they were blushing hard, especially Tegoshi. On the other side, Shige and Ryo were still watching.
“Tsk. All of you are gay.” Ryo whispered.
“Shut up.” Shige leans closer but still staring at the Tegomass couple. Ryo can smell and fell Shige’s hair, it smells good and soft.
“They’re cute, ne?” as he turned at Ryo while their face was so close. And that what makes the 2 blushing.
“Yeah.” Ryo said very nervous and blushing.
“Shige? Ryo-tan?” someone called them. And Shige sudden showed up.
“Y-yeah? What is it?”
“Arigatou, ne?” said Tegoshi as he come near Shige.
“Betsuni. Oh and congratulations.” Said Shige, laughing.
“As gratitude…” he leans closer to Shige and whispers.
“I’ll help you to Ryo-tan.” That words made Shige blush.
“No. I don’t like him.” He whispered back.
“I know you do. So, stop denying.”
“Demou, he… can’t like me. So, no, thank you, Tegoshi.”
“So, if you need somebody to talk to. Talk to me, okay.”
“Hai.”

A week later, Tegoshi invited them to an amusement park for their date. Shige agreed and Ryo is the same. Shige finally have a day off to his studies. He always locked himself in his room and just to study and sleep. He just went out of the room just to eat, go to school and go to Massu, Tegoshi or Ryo’s house. Ryo dragged Shige to the rollercoaster.
“Ryo!!! Stop!! I hate rollercoaster!!”
“I’m here. Don’t worry.” He smiled. And he keeps dragging him to the rollercoaster. Shige keeps on staring at him. Until they reached the entrance, Ryo is still dragging him until they went inside and take a sit.
“Ryo. I don’t like it here.” As he want to leave.
“Stay here.” Said Ryo while he took his hand, Shige stared at him and sit. Keep on glancing at his hand touching his hand. He let him to be like this. He keep on glancing at him and until the ride started. He was calm at first, until it become faster he went scared and clings to his arms very tight. Scared, he wanted to hold Ryo longer. He was pulled over by Ryo that made him hugged Ryo. He was blushing and that made Ryo smile. He was happy that he made Shige blushing, he ‘loves’ it! Ryo leans closer to him and that makes him look at him. Their lips were almost met but, Shige pushed him away.
“You’re not scared anymore?” he asked.
“Not anymore.” He turned around and trying to hide his face blushing like a tomato.

“What? You pushed him away?” Tegoshi shouted in Shige’s room.
“You’re noisy, Tegoshi. Were in Shige’s house, behave.”
“Gomen, I’m just carried away. Shige that was your chance!”
“Demou, its public. And I guess its not the time.”
“Then, when? When he had a girlfriend and forgets all of us?”
“I don’t know.”
“Shige, if you want us to set both of you, we’ll help you.” As h hold his lover’s hand. “Ne, Massu?”
“Hai!” as he took a magazine on his bag and the cover was a cupcake with M&M on top.
“Massu… That was…” Tegoshi look at the magazine. “A Playboy magazine. Massu, since when did you read this kind of thing?”
“Eh? What about that?”
“That’s a porn magazine, Massu!” said Shige.
“Eh? Its not, look at that, cupcake is the cover of the magazine.”
“Shut up Buta! Where do you find this?” Tegoshi slaps his head.
“It was my dad’s. I saw it on their bed earlier, the cover is captivating, cupcake with M&M on top.” Masuda explained.
“Tsk! I give up.” Shige said while he lay down on the bed.
“Hai. We should go now. Jaa.” Said Tegoshi as he drags Massu outside the room.

“Shige!!! You’re still on the top 1.” Tegoshi said while still searching his name on the board.
“Congrats, Shige.” Said Massu.
“Thanks Massu.”
“Eh? That Yamashita Tomohisa is in the number 2? I never thought that he was as smart as you, Shige.” Ryo smirked.
“Yeah. Only a .5 difference.” Said Shige.
“Ooopppsss… Yamashita is at your back, Ryo.” Warned Massu as Ryo turned to look at him and this guy look for his name.
Shige look at him and smiled a little.
“Congratulation Yamashita.” Said Shige.
“Just a .5 difference, I still become the number 1.” Yamashita leans closer to him and winks and that made Shige blush. And Ryo felt a little annoyance and jealousy.
‘Why does Yamashita stare at Shige like that? He can’t like my Shige!’ he said to himself.
‘Wait? Did I say ‘my’ Shige? When did he become mine? I admit that I like him. But I have to admit I’m jealous right now.’ He added.

While on the way home, Ryo can’t forget about what he saw, that Yamashita WINKS at Shige, he knew that guy has something with Shige. He can’t talk to Shige right now, he was happily chatting with Massu and Tegoshi. But thankfully Massu and Tegoshi separate ways with them, Shige was happily waved his hands and saying goodbye. And he dragged Shige to his house.

“Ryo, do you think Yamashita thinks of me as a rival?” said while sitting on Ryo’s bed.
“Yes.” He took his clothes off and lies down on his bed.
“But, I don’t treat him as one.”
“I don’t know.”
“But, Yamashita’s eyes are beautiful.”
“Sou.” He felt jealous again.
“Then, I realize that he’s cute too.”
“W-what? That guy? Cute?”
“Yeah. He really is cute, ne?”
“You had a bad taste do you?”
“Why?”
“He’s ugly! He’s just smart as you. And… yeah, you two look good together. Nerds should stick together, ne?” he smirked.
“I just… admired him, because, he will try harder to be on the top spot.”
“Really?” Ryo asked and Shige just nod.
“Why did you take me here?”
“I just… want a tutor. Would you help me?”
“Hai.”

“Shigeeeeee!!!” said Tegoshi over the phone.
“Tegoshi! Too loud!”
“Gomen! I’m just happy.”
“What are you being happy about?” said Shige in annoyance.
“We-did-it!” Tegoshi said in a low voice.
“You did what?”
“The thing on Massu’s porn magazine. There’s a guide! And we did it.” And Shige got what he was talking about.
“You’re 15! You did that?”
“I won’t get pregnant, okay!?”
“I know.”
“How about you?”
“I just tutored him last night.”
“Sou ka. I hope you will say that heavy thing on your heart.”
“Hai.”

“Shige!!” shouted Ryo around the school corridor.
“Ryo! You’re too loud! Nani?” said the annoyed Shige.
“Come to my house later.”
“For what? Tutor again?” Ryo shake his head.
“No.”
“What?”
“I’m gonna say something to you later.”
“Okay.” And Ryo runs around the corridor and said.
“YES!”

After class, Shige went to Ryo’s house as what they have talked earlier. Shige was so curious of what Ryo will say to him. Many things came to his mind, will Ryo confess to him? He has a date and need his help. He was too confused.
“Yo! You already passed my house.” Ryo said while he tapped his shoulder.
“You’re thinking too much.” He added and dragged him inside the house and to his room.
“What is it Ryo?”
“Anou, would you help me what to wear on my date?” on Ryo’s words, Shige’s heart BREAKS into pieces when he heard that he has a date.
“Heh?”
“Eh? Doushite?
“You have a date?”’
“With whom?”
“Itou Chiaki.1”said Ryo. Shige was really in pain while hearing this kind of thing, but Ryo’s a friend so there’s so turning back. He should help him at any cost.
“Oh, she’s popular, ne?” Shige asked him and Ryo answered with just a nod.
“So, help me, then.”
“No. You have a good taste in fashion.”
“No. I don’t have.” Ryo answered in denial.
“Tsk! Ryo! I don’t believe you.”
“Then don’t.”
“Arrgh! Fine! The yellow T-shirt I bought you last time we were in the amusement park, where I mess your shirt, and those low rise jeans you wore that time” Ryo get the shirt in the closet.
“These clothing?”
“Yeah.”
“I always remember THESE clothes. You vomit on me after the rollercoaster ride.” Ryo laughs.
“Don’t talk silly things! I’m going home.”
“Okay. Thanks Shige.”
“You’re welcome.” He left the Nishikido residence. Heartbroken. Ryo touched the clothes that Shige advised. These clothes were special to him. Shige choose these clothes for him since they went together in the amusement park.
