Awwwww... we had a tiny bottle of Thai wine with a baby cobra in it which was a gift from one of hubby co-worker. One of my cat went on the shelf to knock it down and I was lucky to be around to pick from the cat and a curious little dog the broken glass and the cobra but OH THE SMELL WOOO!
I threw everything outside in the -22F but a week later... I told myself that I should keep it... so I bought a tiny jar, filled it with Vodka, place the *never frozen from the deep cold* baby snake and sealed it all.
Because moved in the US... we gave it to a friend *sigh*
i have a lot of little things preserved in regular rubbing alcohol, and once on of my cats knocked one over too. i know that smell, WOOO is right! i can't IMAGINE trying to drink that! besides, i have to change the liquid whenever it gets cloudy (once it stays clear then they are fully pickled) so i get a regular whiff of it, but at least i'm prepared and can fill it right back up before it wafts too far.
