NaNoWriMo (national novel writing month) was one of those things that for several years i wasn't supposed to do, because it was something my ex claimed as hers. this year i decided to go for it. i'm between schools, working half time -- so i had no excuse not to and it seemed like a good way to push myself to keep writing while i prepare to go ( Read more... ) -
thursday's concert
The Capitol Center for the Arts is a small theater as theaters go, but is a large venue for a town of 40,000 people. There are no bad seats--no pillars to block anyone's view and rows lettered A-Z. our seats were Row Y one in from the outside aisle and we had a spectacular view. Election Spectacular!
The New Hampshire elections have been amazing--the lone red state of new england has elected a majority of dems in EVERY race! for the first time ever, i got to vote for winners and that's an amazing feeling. it makes it feel like my vote counted in a way that never before has that been the case. i am in awe. it feels like the coming of the ( Read more... ) -
yay for birthday festivities
J's coming over after work tonight to celebrate with me and mom, then we'll play at her house tomorrow since tomorrow is her mom's birthday, and thursday we're going to see Ani in concord on a stage i've performed on which i'm 110% excited about. sometime next weekend i'll see my dad, thereby prolonging the birthday festivities :) (he's in Houston ( Read more... ) -

i never thought i'd be one of those people who dreaded birthdays with the growing-old-ness that they bring. and really, i'm not. but it does kind of freak me out that as of today I am 24 years old--squarely in my mid-twenties. how did that happen? i keep finding out that i'm older than many of my co-workers, folks i thought must be older than me ( Read more... ) -

I have carved three pumpkins in the past twenty four hours, and will be carving more tomorrow. for anyone who has seen me with christmas cookies--spending sometimes multiple hours on a single cookie with icing applied painstakingly with toothpicks with detail beyond reason... these pumpkins and the time i have spent on them shouldn't be any ( Read more... )
