All I know is, if I see one more ad where a politician or (worse) a politician's wife thrusts forward an adorable child and asks us to fret for its future, I am going to scream.
I've noticed this about political ads too: the right-leaning candidates always show pictures of children and families and ask us to fret for them, while the left-leaning candidates show themselves speaking to large groups of seemingly-disenfranchised folks, who are OMG SO SAD without the politician to give them hope.
