No! You can't leave fandom, even if temporarily. This is what they want. Their objective is to make us as miserable as they are...don't give in to it, please!
Don't leave! That's what the butt-munchers want! Despite the existence of CANON H/G and H/Hr they think they'll "win" if enough Crushers and Good Shippers leave the fandom. Be strong!
If it makes you feel any better I am working on a monster Ginny defense for the Lover her/Hate her thread, addressing issues like the Mary Sue accusation, the idea that its been "shoved down our throats" how pretty she is, and the insane idea that Jo actually said Ginny is a better Chaser then Katie. I hope to have it up later today.
Actually the eleven year old girl that won an interview with JKR for HBP is a Harmony shipper, and she asked point blank if Harry and Hermione would get together. Jo answered that half the answer to that question is in HBP and the other half of it is in the seventh book. That kinda does leave it as a horse race still because otherwise she could have just said that Harry is with Ginny, now. She didn't. It means that G/H may really be sunk, for good.
Mhm, sunk indeed.
As for taking a break, feel free to do so. :) Only for a few days of course, because otherwise you'll miss all the absurdity!
