So, T and I are *fingers crossed* going to be moving to Syracuse NY come next August. Robin and Ryan are looking to move up there in April and we intend to hot on thier heels. The job market doesn't seem terrible, rent is definitely cheaper. And there are seasons! Granted I'll probably whine my way through my first winter, but I'm excited.

Yea, I saw that the crime is pretty high depending on the area you're in. But being from Tampa I'm not so much worried about it.

real estate is exponentially cheaper here and so is rent. for a smaller apt. in tampa i paid around 800 a month. here i pay 590 for a 900 sq. foot two bedroom/1 bath apt. in the university area.

In addition to a snow blower, I also highly recommend pretty much all forms of warm-ware for the winters. I don't know if Syracuse gets as bad as Buffalo/Lockport, but considering they're both right off Lake Ontario I can only imagine the lake effect snow is the same, as is the lake effect cold.

Just remember, their winter is like our summer, except the opposite. It snows all the time and it's always cold. Be prepared.
