♥ Character Information

Name: Rosalind (credit to Gunshot Romance for the name)
Age: 32
Personality:
Rosalind is like a piece of steel, cold and hard to break. Ever since she was a little girl, she never made jokes or laughed often. She didn't play silly games with the other children, or have much of an imagination. She would just sit around and read, but not children stories of dragons and such, she was technical even when she was little. She referred to her mother and father by their first names, and eventually she began to speak to her father addressing him as 'Sir'.

As a Turk, she's not far from being a robot. She is given orders, and she completes them dutifully. It's all about getting the job done, with no joking around or bullshit. But she is loyal and focused, her ability to get jobs done has gained trust from her fellow Turks, especially her superiors. Betrayal is a foreign subject, and it's never even crossed her mind, and she never understood how other people commit it. To her, the world is black and white, there is no grey or in the middle, you're either with ShinRa or you're not. When speaking to her other Turks, she addresses them formally and professionally, even if they are not on duty. She makes a few exceptions for her partner, Rod, and SOLDIERS (for she dislikes them).

Her biggest flaw is that she is too serious. This causes people not to like her very much, outside of being a Turk. But then there's the fact, when she thinks she is right, she won't budge from her judgement. No matter how much she could be wrong, it's her way or the highway. She also frowns upon those who do not take missions as seriously as she does, especially such people as Reno.

Strengths:
Her specialty is a handgun, earning her the nickname 'Gun'. She is loyal to her job and therefore earning lots of trust from her fellow Turks. She is skilled in battle, is professional, and you can always expect the job to be done. She is very protective of her other Turks, if one is in trouble she will make sure she is on top of trying to rescue them. She keeps secrets well, she is well-mannered, and organized. She has lots of patience, but when it comes to Turks who don't take the job seriously, that's when it really tests her patience.

Weaknesses:
Too rigid, serious, and uptight. Can be seen as stuck-up and judgemental. Doesn't laugh or smile, not earning her many friends. She thinks her opinions are right, and is not set on changing her mind. Only has a livid view of the world. Even years after being a Turk, and the fact her father doesn't have an influence on her anymore, she still seeks to improve herself. She never thinks she is good enough at what she is, and constantly trying to improve her skills. She feels if she fails, it will disgrace her father, and her family, and she's constantly degrading herself, and nothing she ever does is perfect for her.

History:
Growing up in the Midgar slums, life wasn't the best from the start for the future Turk. She grew up reading her father's books from the ShinRa Military School, and when she was old enough her father immediately began to teach her one on one in combat.

She was protective of her younger sister when she was younger, looking out after her for it was her job as the older sibling. As she grew older, it was obvious her father favored her over her younger sister, Elena, and therefore the bitterness between the two began.

She was constantly either training or working on her schoolwork, her father over her shoulder all the time making sure she was working to her best ability. Thanks to her father's pressure and him making her strive, she became highly skilled shot, and in the end she was able to become better then her father. She graduated from ShinRa Military School at the top of her class with honors and she was immediately recruited to the Turks. Some say that because her father was an instructor that she got in, but she knew it was her skill and her hard work.

During the events of Meteor, the Turks were sent into hiding, Rosalind being one of them. She ended up traveling with her fellow Turk, Victoria (Shotgun). Now heading back to ShinRa, Rosalind has changed, opening up a bit then she was before. But she is still her same stoic self, but greatly surprised to return back to ShinRa and find that her younger sister, Elena, is now a Turk.

♠ Roleplaying Samples
(her samples are from when she was a Turk in BC)
First person:
My life is nothing but eat, sleep, and work. I rarely have time for anything else, and I am never really home to accomplish much. I always focus on work, I'm always thinking of work, my life revolves around being a Turk. But those bastards...I don't understand how they can fool around. How can they focus on something else besides being a Turk. Even in my sleep, I can't help but think "What's the next mission going to be?" or "Will tomorrow be the day I die?". Everyday being a Turk has a possibility of death, and it seems that I'm the only one who actually thinks about it at times. But even though I think about death, it doesn't scare me. I'm ready to take it on, I'll do a mission even if it's a suicide one. I'll help a fellow Turk, even if it means that I may die in the end.

But the funny part is...I think of those now. I think of death after the mission. I don't have time to think about it when I'm on the mission, when I'm trying to focus. Only later, when I'm laying in bed for the night, I think about how I could've died that day. It's funny, what being a Turk does to you.

Third person:
Gun sat at her desk in ShinRa tower, her desk now being bare of all her things. She had a packed bag sitting next to her on the floor, and she was just sat there staring at the desk. Go into hiding? She thought once more, not believing that this was happening. She and her fellow Turks had been called into Tseng's office, and were told they were being sent into hiding due to the events of Meteor. They weren't allowed to contact family, they just had to disappear. They could be with other Turks if they wanted, but not many. Changes of names were made, new wardrobe, and a new life. They would be contacted once they were needed back at ShinRa once more. But when would that be? She let out a sigh, and her usual rigid frame slouched forward a bit in her chair. She didn't want to leave. She liked her job and where she was, and this was the first time she was ever considering going against an order.

What are you thinking? Her thoughts shouted at her, and she immediately straightened up. She couldn't go against an order, she was a Turk. She's never had and never will, and if that involved her leaving everything behind to go into hiding, then she would. Finally pushing away from her desk, she stood and picked up her bag. She didn't know where she was doing, just that she agreed to travel somewhere with her fellow Turk, Victoria. Who knew where they would end up, but time would tell. Walking around her desk, and glancing around at the other empty desks, she felt a rush of emotion. Was she going to cry? She never cried, especially at work. She quickly looked away and closed her eyes until she reached the door to the office. Opening it slowly, she could see the others waiting outside for her. Turning once more to look at the small office, she whispered softly, "Goodbye ShinRa.", and shut the door behind her.
