I can't stop laughing.  Talk about phoning it in.  If you're going to plagiarize dialog, at least plagiarize good dialog.

Oh, dear. Of course, one reason it makes such terrible dialog is that it wasn't written as dialog. She said she didn't know she was supposed to acknowledge her sources? She cut and pasted; that's not research.

That dialog -- it's like she's written Marlon Perkins in a loin cloth. That's not a pretty mental picture. :D

Maybe the the wildlife writer should add in a passage to one of his articles like "The ferrets occasionally detour from their usual habitat and may come across a tent. In this tent..." and rip a huge chunk out of a romance novel.
