i want a new lj username

lj can change the name associated with my journal number for $15, but right now i don't have $15 to spend on something that basically amounts to a cosmetic change. so i was thinking that i could create a new journal and put all my old entries in it (copy, paste, backdate), but then i'd lose all the comments that people left, wouldn't i? or i

I suggest that whatever you do, you keep us updated on what your lj name is. ;)

I'm sort of a fan of continuity, so I'd probably vote for waiting/not changing.

On the other hand, a lot can be said for making a clean start. When I kept a paper journal, I remember being excited when I got to the end of one and had to start a new one. I felt accomplished, having a clean slate, (how cliche) etc. Starting a new lj while keeping this one in existence so you can look back at it might be sort of like that for you.

Darling, everyone wants something in life. The question that I have for you is WHY do you want a new username. Are you just bored with this one? Are you trying to start a new chapter in your life and want it to be completely separate from this one? Really, is this a good, solid, important decision, one that you feel will have a significant effect on you or your life? Or is this wanting to get a new livejournal name just a whim that you are thinking of indulging?

A child may want the fanciest, latest toy, but so what? It's just an insignificant game.

Think this through a bit more, that's my suggestion. Whatever you do, I love you!
